Threat In Climate change|| A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

The people of Zulu watched the clouds as they noticed the drastic change over time. They knew a day like this would come but they hadn't presumed it would come this quickly when they weren't prepared for it.

"We've exposed ourselves to something dangerous" Mr Okafor, the village principal said. He shook his head as if perceiving the disaster that will befall them.

"What do we do?" The king asked, "I'm already feeling the heat from the sun as if hell has been opened on us" he added. He paced around the small court worried.

The Zulu people were known for afforestation, not until development came into the town and they felt it necessary to welcome this growth by cutting down trees and building factories. Greed soon set in and they sold most of their canopy trees for cutting out planks for commercial and industrial use. The Zulu town grew big with factories and gradually there was only a few woods in the town.

"It's our fault, but even if we wish to start planting trees as our forefathers did, all our lands have been sold out," one of the elders said. The climate change was already affecting both humans and animals, it was just a matter of time to start experiencing its worse effect.

Mr Okafor thought for a while before he stood to speak,

"We should put it into law that every house must have a tree planted in their compounds or a homestead" he stood for a while looking at the countenance of the king that seemed dazed with the current situation.

"I agree with him " the king responded almost immediately "the past deforestation had indeed affected our land and this seems like the only way to win".

He called the town crier Mr Udu and instructed him to go round the town and announce the decision and law that has been passed with the hope that the decision taken will avert future implications.
