FreeWrite: Bad Papers

He gives the documents to his superior and...

Bad Papers

"I prefer leader." He said, looking at the papers I gave him. "Superintendent is a long word, don't you think? Doesn't feel good to be called that."

"I... kind of agree." His mannerisms decreased my nervousness. Was it intentional? "How are the papers."

"Good, good. Your handwriting is bad, but I can read it." He threw one of the papers into the trash. "Can't read this one."

I hurried to pick it up. "That's the only copy we have."

"Then make another one. Isn't that your job?" His eyes pierced mine.

"You have fifteen minutes to fix these two." He picked up another paper from the documents and gave it to me. "You understand?"

He didn't wear a threatening face, but my mind flagged what he meant

"I understand superint-- I mean leader." I corrected myself as his face twitched.

He smiled and returned back to his document exploration. I went to the office's back to print another copy of the documents and fill it out.

I just got the job, I can't be expelled this quickly.

"..!!" There wasn't any malice in his words but I felt threatened all the same.

"Y"

I hit the time limit before I finished the story, I had to finish the version above after finishing the Free Write.

Author Notes:

This is an entry to Dreemport's FreeWrite Challenge. (Partner in the challenge: @penderis) Prompt is "superintendent" and I had to look up what it meant. Thanks @beeeee for the help.

This was hard to make. As I said above, I didn't finish this story in 5 minutes. I'm not sure if it's good, but at least I managed to let it reach an ending. Please tell me what do you think about it?

I think people who believe they're "leaders" of an office are hard to handle. I didn't work in an office to know that, but I had a few classmates of that type in my school years. I hope the main character of this story doesn't get expelled.

What do you think

This is my third #FreeWrite for the Dreemport challenge. Check out my first one here: "Silver Medal" and the second one "Red Braids." Both of these stories are better than this one in my opinion, so if you think otherwise, let me know.

And If you're new to my content, please check out my "Where to Start?" article You'll find a story you'll like in there for sure. For now, I leave you until we meet in another article.

Salam (Peace)
