Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great Wednesday... For my wife and I it has been a great day, and the walk I want to share with you today was a pleasant experience in our new habit of touring some iconic places in Caracas. This time we took a walk through the Parque del Este of the Venezuelan capital, a beautiful place that we had not visited for a long time and that could not be missing in our plans.
¡Hola a todos! Espero estén teniendo un gran Miércoles... Para mi esposa y yo ha sido un día genial, y el paseo que les quiero compartir hoy fue una grata experiencia en nuestra nueva costumbre de recorrer algunos lugares icónicos de Caracas. En esta oportunidad nos dimos un paseo por el Parque del Este de la capital venezolana, un hermoso lugar por el cual teníamos mucho tiempo sin pasar y que no podía faltar en nuestros planes.
These three photos above are from the xerophytic garden, which is definitely our favorite spot in this park that is also known as Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda. All the plants in this area have the ability to withstand arid environments, with little water, and although in this rainy season is not our case, it happens to look more beautiful than ever. We always take a moment to sit and snack on one of the giant rocks in this garden.
Estas tres fotografías de arriba son del jardín xerófilo, que definitivamente es nuestro lugar preferido en este parque que también es conocido como Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda. Todas las plantas en esta zona tienen la capacidad de soportar ambientes áridos, con poca agua, y aunque en esta época de lluvias no es nuestro caso, resulta que se ve más hermoso que nunca. Siempre nos tomamos un momento para sentarnos y merendar en alguna de las gigantescas rocas de este jardín.
After this we went to my favorite area, a part that looks like a small forest with so many trees that give shade there. It seems cool to me and a place far away from people, it is usually the joggers who walk through there. At the edge of the park you can hear a small river and the sound of birds singing. An ideal place to walk hand in hand.
Luego de esto nos fuimos a mi zona favorita, una parte que parece un pequeño bosque de tantos árboles que dan sombra ahí. Me parece fresco y un lugar lejano para las personas, generalmente son los corredores los que transitan por ahí. Al borde del parque se escucha un pequeño río y el sonido de los pájaros cantando. Lugar ideal para caminar tomados de la mano.
In the southern part of the park was the popular boat that attracts the attention of so many tourists, surrounded by the characteristic small lakes, but this time I got to the end, I had never seen the connection of the Parque del Este with the Simon Bolivar Park that leads to the airport of La Carlota, so despite the sun we kept walking and reached a huge acoustic shell with very high stands. We went up, turned to the north and found this wonderful view of Cerro El Avila, with its summit hidden in the clouds. An image impossible to erase and in fact it is this last photo above this text.
En la zona sur del parque estaba el popular barco que llama la atención de tantos turistas, rodeado por los pequeños lagos característicos, pero esta vez llegué hasta el final, nunca había visto la conexión del Parque del Este con el Parque Simón Bolívar que da con el aeropuerto de La Carlota, así que a pesar del sol seguimos caminando y llegamos hasta una concha acústica inmensa y con gradas muy altas. Subimos, nos volteamos hacia el norte y nos encontramos con esta maravillosa vista del Cerro El Ávila, con su cima escondida entre las nubes. Una imagen imposible de borrar y de hecho es esta última foto arriba de este texto.
To culminate our walk we took a look around the small zoo to see how our friend the otter was doing, this time she preferred to sunbathe instead of getting wet and we passed by the Humbolt Planetarium, a magical place that always made me happy in my childhood. There is a lot of pleasure in this walking with my girl, maybe it can't be a daily activity, but doing it together is important for us and makes us happy appreciating the simplest things in life. Para culminar nuestro paseo echamos un vistazo por el pequeño zoológico para ver como estaba nuestra amiga la nutria, que esta vez prefirió tomar el sol en lugar de mojarnos y pasamos al lado del Planetario Humbolt, un lugar mágico que siempre me hizo feliz en la infancia. Hay mucho placer en esto de caminar con mi chica, quizás no pueda ser una actividad diaria, pero hacerlo juntos es importante para nosotros y nos hace felices apreciando las cosas más simples de la vida.
