So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the first topic for this week which is “WHOSE FAULT IS IT?”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic which was “GLORIFYING CRIME”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on movies and TV shows and how they always seemed to glorify crimes and make it look appealing to the public. Considering the amount of influence movies can have on the viewers. The kind of content being put put should be considerably safer.

We got to see the different opinions of our members. Some supported the idea that the movie producers indeed glorified crime and others believed that they showed the crime and also the consequences of being a criminal. That way, the viewer could see that every action had a reaction.

For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w132e3 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors will be listed below.

DECISIONS AND AWARENESS by @kilvnrex

This author told us that movies do not glorify crime, but instead, they teach valuable lessons about it and teach the viewers what to do should they find themselves in such a situation. Evil is subjective and it all depends on what we see it as. It works the same way in movies, while one sees it one way, someone else may see it in another way.

DOES CRIME MOVIES INFLUENCE REAL-LIFE CRIME OR ARE WE TRYING TO AVERT OUR EYES ON THE REAL CAUSE? by @saydie

For this author, he’s of the opinion that the crime rate has nothing to do with the way crime is portrayed in the movies. Instead, they work to open our eyes to the danger that they pose, and as such learn from them so that better decisions can be made. He believes that removing the element of crime will be a direct infringement of creativity.

ARE YOU WHAT YOU WATCH? @michupa

For this author, he believes that movies plant seeds in the mind of every person who watch it, and the more we watch movies like that, the more it sets its roots deep inside us. He agrees that there is a romanticization of crime and it’s not a positive outlook considering just how badly such things have affected the world today.

All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.

But then, we have some honorable mentions which are listed below:

Week 133 - Edition 01 Topic

WHOSE FAULT IS IT?

*“Whose fault is it when a child misbehaves and commits a major infraction to the society? Is it the parents fault? Do you feel the parent could have done better in raising the kid? Or is it the fault of the kid who would made the same decisions regardless of their upbringing. What are your thoughts?”
