DECISIONS AND AWARENESS

I love watching crime movies, not just because of the action, but also because of the lessons to learn. These lessons for me come as a form of awareness. These lessons are also not telling us whether commiting murder is bad or not, but rather making us aware of how murder is being viewed from the story line. Someone might ask what lesson could be learned from how murder is viewed? If we look at it from a perspective the law is not truly just. If the law is just and fair, it will not judge based on facts but based on truth and intent. If we look closely we see that what a lot of movies do is portray the intent to the criminal and the law and allow the viewers to decide who is good and bad.

For example the series money heist made me see that criminals are criminals not just because of their actions, but because of the result. In some cases the end might justify the means. But then again, there's a downside to all of these. The storyline in a lot of movies will make you hate and love the characters at the same time and you wonder how on earth someone can be this good and bad at the same time. I remember the vampire diaries and the originals where people can kill the innocent for the fun of it and still end up looking good. This shows us that law and order is more about what is prevalent in the society than what is actually good or bad.

The irony of what is good and what is bad is totally determined by how society describes it. If society says killing is a form of punishment, it no longer becomes bad, anyone can punish anyone by death. It's the world we live in everyday, but movies allow us to see what is right in front of us that we have not been open to. Today we can get to understand the dubious things going on in the government especially when a political movie showcases it in a way we can understand and not criticize. There are people the law would normally deem villains, and sometimes if we see such actions in our society we might even criticize it. But in movies we get to understand the truth (in reality) and see it from a different point of view.

I would so much encourage watching crime movies, we can't continue to be ignorant about things going on in our society. The truth is humans can pick ideas from anything, even if there were no movies to give us insight to these crimes, crimes will still exist and still grow and a lot of us will be naive about it. Scammers today have to be over smart, always thinking of new ways to commit crimes because every single day their ideologies and activities are Being exposed for the whole to understand. So in essence I will admit that even though people have used crime movies as a medium for committing crimes, it is also used as a medium to fight and expose it.
