My city has contrasts that sometimes make me laugh, or at the very least, leave me amazed.

Sometimes I think nothing will ever surprise me again, and I'm wrong every single day. Surprises abound, without limit.

A painted wall, with its newly built appearance suspended in the architecture that plays with the classic, deco or modernism that hides the iconoclastic nature of previous decades.

At the front, balconies suspended by their history. Balconies that no one repairs or paints, but they remain in their contrast to the boulevard with cobblestones and women looking for jewelry in the shops to show off.

At the center of it all, a huge crane with its workers carrying out orders to paint, not to fix, but to cover up the appearances of what is being lost in the subtlety of neglect... A city that simply slips away from us.

Mi ciudad tiene contrastes que a veces me hacen reír, cuanto menos asombrado.

En ocasiones pienso no habrá nada que me vuelva a sorprender y me equivoco cada día. Las sorpresas, abundan sin límites.

Una pared pintada, con su apariencia de nueva construcción suspendida en la arquitectura que juega con lo clásico, decó o modernismo que oculta lo iconoclástico de décadas anteriores.

Al frente, balcones suspendidos por su historia. Balcones que nadie repara ni pinta, pero permanecen en su contraste de boulevard con adoquines y mujeres buscando joyas en las tiendas para lucir.

En el centro de todo, una enorme grúa con sus obreros cumpliendo órdenes de pintar, no arreglar, sino cubrir las apariencias de lo que se va perdiendo en la sutileza de la desidia... Una ciudad que simplemente, se nos escapa.
