Hi friends, is another round of #POBphotocontest initiated by @FriendlyMoose, the theme is OLD.

I present to you our old lantern. This lantern was used by my mother even before I was born. So as I cleaned it to take photos of it,I had to pay it an elderly respect hahahaha. When I saw the theme Old, I was thinking of anything older than 10 years. Then I remembered when my mum was telling us stories on how they could carry a lantern as they go for church vigil. I quickly asked her where the lantern was and lucky it was still intact in the house,it has a lot of memories attached to it. It is much older than 10 years.

There are different parts that helps the lantern to function properly.
The first part is the tank, in the tank a little kerosene is poured and kept there. The kerosene helps the lantern to start up fire at the initial time. This is the First step of starting fire.

This place also have a temperature feeling reading, that helps to know if the lantern is ready for you to light a fire.

After checking the above, you turn up the rope and light a fire to the rope.

Below is the rope turner, is from here that the rope is turned up.

When the light start reducing the lantern is pumped with the pumper to make it lighten more and brighten the place.

The lantern can brighten a large area when lighten but regular pumping is involved to increase the brightness and ability to last long.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Have a blessed week.
