I am sure most of you are aware of the noisecash platform. That platform rewards people for writing content. And it rewards you in BCH crypto for the content. Previously that platform used to give people option to tip others in percent like we have here on HIVE.
Here's the point about being generous comes in. I have seen a lot of people who shared like 5% to content creators while kept 95% to their own selves.
Some even did the 30/70 or 20/80 split where they rewarded the creators less while kept big portion to their own selves. Which later made platform remove that system and switch the the random rewards based on the likes system.

What does this tell you about being generous?
You need to mentally and physically on positive vibes in order to be generous. People don't be generous if they have financial, mental, physical constraint.
Considering noisecash does not require you to pay the creator from your own pocket (though there is an option too) yet people decided to reward the creator less and keep more for themselves.
Why people become calculative?
People become calculative if they experience more issues in life. Like if you see snake on the road, you would become more calculative the next time you walk on the road.
Same happens when they want to share something with each other. This is one reason also you would not find or will ever find for that matter, a complete socialist society that functions.
What do you learned from this?
You have easy take away out of this. You become more generous if you have abundance in your life. If you are frugal and have limits of your own you can't become generous. In that case you shift the gears towards the calculative.
