Another recent trip to the used book store proved very fruitful for me, as these trips usually do.
When there are books involved, I always manage to find something.
Here's a look at what I found on this little outing.
Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan
The biggest find were these three Wheel of Time books by Robert Jordan. The original art hardcovers are quite rare and hard to come by and I'm still working on completing my collection.
These three brings me to 8 out of the 15 books in the series, so I still have quite a ways to go before I'm finished.
The earlier books are especially difficult to find. I have seen the later ones in the series quite a few times, the same books over and over, but never the first four books.
Online I have seen the entire hardcover set including the prequel "New Spring," being sold on Facebook Marketplace for $500 but its always too far for me to travel for them. That probably sounds like a lot of money but it actually works out to only about $33 per book which is ofgen times the price of a new Hardcover in Canada.
Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris
Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris goes with my newly acquired copy of The Silence of the Lambs. Its the first book in that series quartet and is the Hannibal / Dr. Lecter origin story. It the prequel to the Red Dragon. I actually forgot about this prequel and when I picked it up off the shelf that day I thought that it was the 4th book in the series, there one called just "Hannibal." I guess I missed the part that said "Rising" on the cover.
I thought that it was different cover art than what I'm used to seeing. Later in the day I did see the book "Hannibal" but I didn't bother to buy it because I thought that I already had it with "Hannibal Rising."
I don't know if you're able to follow this jumble of a story, but all this to say, I screwed up and missed an opportunity to buy another book.
Hannibal is pretty common to see in thrift stores and much less rare than some of the other ones, so I'm sure that I'll see it again at some point.

The last book is one that was recommended to me by 
I'm actually reading it now and am about a quarter of the way through. So far I'm finding it interesting and am enjoying it. It was a good recommendation.
