Just yesterday, we discussed the oath that doctors take in the medical field, swearing to preserve lives and all that, but in reality, they don't keep up to this in certain cases until money is deposited prior to medical attention, even in critical cases.
It's a common occurrence in this part of my world, and that's why some people who are very sick will choose to stay at home and hope that God will heal them instead of going to the hospital without money, because obviously, they knew that even first aid wouldn't be given to them at the entrance, not to talk of full treatment to save their lives before talking about money first.
It is what it is, and why I wouldn't blame doctors completely because they don't run charity organizations; I will blame the government for not making rooms to save the lives of its citizens. Medicals are supposed to be one of the basic needs the government should provide for its citizens, but no, lives are being lost carelessly because of money; it's sad.
In my estate, there is this man that started sitting around the gate, looking sick, and no one seems to understand his way about. At some point, he couldn't even sit but lay down on the ground helplessly; he couldn't talk either, just look so weak and very sick. Our estate chairman and other people went to examine him and then reported the matter to the police.
Police came and saw that life was still remaining in him, so instead of taking him to the general hospital to save his life first, after which the man can speak about where he is coming from, the police said they will allow him to die first, and then we should call them back to come and pick up his corpse and dispose of it. Can you imagine such terrible decisions? When did life become like a fowl? Where has our humanity gone to?
As I type, the corpse of this man is right there at the gate with no trace of where he is coming from. So his people will never see him again and wouldn't know what happened to him. Yet, he had an opportunity to be alive, but he died carelessly; it's sad.
If only a lot could be restructured in our country, some lives wouldn't be lost like fowls.
