Breakfast with Friends, Fairmont Hotsprings Montana - Monday

Yesterday morning we went for breakfast with our friends and their new baby. We went to Jim's Jumbo cafe in Pocatello and the reviews weren't lying, the portions are huge. The boys split the pancake platter and managed to eat the bulk of the pancakes and the bacon. We all were talking for a lot of the time so we took a while to eat. It was nearing 10:30 before we were on the road.

4 hours later we made it to the room in the Hot Springs.

There weren't many people here when we arrived and as the evening wore on not many more showed up.

We went down to the cafe for dinner before we went out to soak. We were the only ones in the place with the resort so quiet.

We made it out to the water by 5:30 and I stayed in the hot pool for over an hour. They checked the temps after a while and the main pool was 93F and the hot pool was 106F. I was glad I had my water bottle full to start with since the 106 had my head throbbing from the heat after about 40 minutes.

The boys had an absolute blast and spent a lot of their time on the water slide.

The input ports in the bottom of the hot pool are outputting some 110F+ water and you can feel the difference standing over them.

This is a great way to finish off our long road trip.

After the hour of soaking we went up to the room as I had to be on a co-op meeting at 7pm. It took only 15 minutes and we had our bylaws amended and new board members voted in. We then ended up back at the pools for another hour. The slide shut down at 9:30pm with R getting one of the last rides of the night.

We are going to be soaking this morning again as the pools open in a few minutes, though everyone else in the room is still asleep.

We got about 4 inches of fresh snow at home to contend with today. On our way home we are stopping in Deer Lodge at a National Historic Monument then Missoula. We will have slower going from lookout pass at the Idaho Montana border all the way home which is 100 miles. It looks like I will have to get the snowblower going as soon as we get home to clear the dump of snow.
