A priceless mountain view

When we woke up this morning the weather was literally screaming for a little outdoor adventure. It was relatively warm compared to the last few days and the sky was nice and blue. The only challenge was to find something nearby that we haven't seen before.

We recently wanted to visit a lookout point, which at that time was still closed due to Covid19. Since we didn't find anything official online, we gave the whole thing a second try and headed south into the Glasshouse Mountains to the Wild Horse Lookout.

Apart from climbing all the mountains within this huge Nationalpark there are several Lookouts and Hiking Tracks around these mountains. Today we visited two of the Lookouts, starting with the Wild Horse Lookout.

As said, we wanted to visit that place before and have been to the Car Park already, just to read that there is no access at the moment and trespassing will be fined. Since we did not want to risk a fine we left, although it´s only a 700m walk up a hill to the Lookout.

Nevertheless, I found the drive through the forest there was great. You should always enjoy what you have. :)

This time we were lucky and the track was open to the public again. It is a really short and very easy walk on a street, albeit very steep towards the end. Halfway up we got a little taste of the view and could already see the observation platform.

On the platform you have a fabulous 360 degree view of the Glasshouse Mountains, an arm of the sea that runs between the mainland and Bribie Island and the beautiful hinterland.

The Glasshouse Mountains consist of 12 Mountains in total of which you can see 3 on the photos. These are Mount Tibrogargan, Mount Beerwah and Mount Coonowrin from left to right. I do not know the name the smaller hills in between.

We´ve seen these Mountains many times from many different angles, but I was blown away from the view up here.

On the way down we checked the map for what else we could explore and Fidi found another lookout called Jack Ferris Lookout, not too far away. On the way to there we passed a big Pineapple field with another great view of Mount Tibrogargan and as @j85063 mentioned in one of my previous posts the Mountain indeed looks a bit like a Gorilla from here.

Eventually we ended up at a dead end in the middle of the forest and had to walk a bit to reach that lookout. But it turned out to be a nice walk, so we did not care.

In the end it was worth the detour, because from here we also had an priceless view of the mountain.

Once again it was a beautiful day in australian nature. If only every Saturday would be that great. I was already zhinking about climbing Mount Tigrogargan aka the Gorilla tomorrow. You will hear it here first if I did.
