We are back high and dry in de sky and the only way is to fly. I would just wish there were ways of getting less nervous in the whole process of flying for me. One thing that for sure makes it worse, is not being rested enough. When you are more tired, your brain capacity makes less sense in all it has to do.
The always say fatigue has more consequences than being drunk even. I always notice it when I am in the car after a late night shift in the dark. After running around all day, the road just passes me by. I always wonder how people do this who just had babies and have broken nights. That can not be reasonable right?
So being tired makes you think less straight. And I am tired. I didnt sleep enough and I had to get up to early. Hence the combination with turbulence just makes me really edgy. I pull on the people next to me and have to focus on my breathing. Yoga breathing. 4 seconds in. Hold 4 seconds. 4 seconds out. Pauze for 4 seconds. This makes you think about nothing else than this. So I go back to breathing and counting down until we are there. 1 hour and 10 minutes to go. Aka 70 minutes times 60 seconds times three breathing cycles per minute. I like being the one with numbers, numbers are always a nice fixed thing to hold on to.
A couple hours later....
It turns out we went through an area which had tornados in there. Good to know Im not entirely mental on a bit of shake. It was rough stuff which killed 5 people in Corsica and 2 in Italy. God have their souls...
