What a better way to start the day with delicious breakfast from Nasi Lemak Kedondong shop!

It was a tough day because my youngest son is in his painful partial bowel obstruction. I stayed at home to tubefeed him hourly while husband be the one who sent eldest son to school in the morning. He actually asked me anything to buy but me being focused on taking care of the sick just couldn't think further. However, husband still detour abit to another side of town to buy us our favourite food — Nasi Lemak.

'Nasi Lemak' is in Malay language. 'Nasi' means rice. 'Lemak' means fat. 'Nasi lemak' is rice cooked in coconut milk and screw pine leaves, some with ginger and onion, giving that super aromatic fragrant rice. In fact, 'nasi lemak' is one of Malaysia's famous food delicacies. It is usually served with our famous sambal aka chilli paste, half of hard-boiled egg, roasted peanut and anchovies and slices of cucumber. It is a must-try for every tourist. And most tourists learn to pronounce the word 'nasi lemak' successfully.

Nasi Lemak Kedondong

On their tissue, it says...

Life begins here...

It is also known as 9kedondong from its center kitchen's name. From what I know, it started from selling nasi lemak from small stall at the side of road, and also in some petrol station kiosk and recently, it has its own shop! Actually, they are very famous in food events and catering because their nasi lemak is delicious and Malaysians love nasi lemak.

Location: 39 & 39A, Jalan E 1, Taman Melawati, 53100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

I guessed husband remembered me who loves nasi lemak since birth 🤪, plus I could be hungry due to the taxing job of taking care of the sick, he was willing to detour to another route to buy the food, and send me some photos too of the shop. I really wanted to pen down his gestures of love on Hive.

Congratulations to the owner who managed to open new business at shoplots besides all the stalls at roadside. I believe many customers are happy for them. It is a simple shop setting. Clean and neat. Nothing much towards Instagrammable decor because the food will be the main focus. Even the signboard is not up yet but a banner first.

The shop sells more variety of food compared to their stalls which you can see from the menu.

Husband bought us two packs of the nasi lemak. A portion of sambal squid, we called it 'sambal sotong'. Two fried eggs. As well three pieces of curry puffs. I was happy when I opened the packet. Almost forgotten to take photos but luckily I remembered.

The 'nasi lemak' was really delicious and fragrant. And the sambal was on point. The sambal squid was soft too although not sure why the smell of uric acid was particularly strong this time. Anyway, I still thoroughly enjoyed my pack of nasi lemak with the sambal squid and the fried egg. I didn't eat the curry puffs because I know my eldest son loves it, so I kept for him. The food was an awesome fuel for my day of hourly tube-feeding and also 2-hour tuition after lunch, plus the one-hour jam time going to the tuition place. Sigh....

Anyway, my heart was filled with thanksgiving that husband remembered me in my most down time and that he teamed up with me to get things done at home and that my tummy was filled with food. Thank you, hubs. Thank you, nasi lemak kedondong.
