In my country Philippines, it very known to have a whole pig roasted in charcoal until it's cooked. Most of the celebrations we have in any part of the country, lechon is very common. It is always the highlight of the table and mostly requested by the celebrant. Some of the restaurants offered a kilo of lechon and others you may buy by whole. But this time we had it for free when we visited a family friend in an island. I have seen how it was prepared and on the time it was ready to eat.

It took 4 to 5 hours roasted in the charcoal. Butchered early in the morning and eaten at lunch. A lot of the people in the provinces raised their own pig for business and also for special occasions. It's also cheaper than buying in farms or market.

When you come to visit my country Philippines, do not forget to try this crunchy and yummy meat ever. Our city, Cebu, is known to have one of the best lechon in the whole region. I hope you can try sometime!❤️
