Beating the Heat

Hello hive friends , It's summer time again . And here in the Philippines the weather is pretty hot specially in the lower lands.

So I'm gonna share one of our way in beating the heat. Here is how it goes.

Lloyd's Kitchen, Found in Barangay Cares, Pugo, LA Union.

Today after mass we visited this place just along the way going home. It was a newly built restaurant in Pugo La Union. We passed by this goin to church earlier, and we saw their tarpaulin saying they're selling Halo Halo.

Halo Halo, means mixed in English, because before you eat you have to mix all the ingredients first

Halo halo is Filipino dessert made of the following ingredients, based on what was served to us.

  • Jelly (Gulaman)
  • Coconut
  • Ice cream
  • Rice Crisps
  • Camote
  • Coconut
  • Ube Jam
  • Crushed Iced
  • Milk and Sugar

Some Halo Halo have more ingredients than this, but this one taste good already. It has a lot of serving and it cost 80 Philippines Peso or Around $1.50. It was a fair price with all the ingredients and also the ambiance of the place.

So before we eat this , we have to mix them all , this is how it looks after mixing.

There's not a lot of people during that time since it was still early for lunch. So we get the whole place all to ourselves.

It's time to eat this tasteful dessert.

Good thing its just use during this time, because our son was really messy when eating haha. I'm not complaining but it's less worry when no one is looking at us.

Our son also found the aquarium inside, and as always he loves watching the fishes swimming that he almost didn't want to go home.

But eventually we forced him to go, all it takes is a bar of chocolate.

How about you guys, how do you beat this summer heat? Would like to know them.

And that was it for today, Thanks for dropping by.
Have a good day, see you in the next one!
