Last weekend, my sister took me to a stall that specialises in durian. Have you ever eaten durian? Do you live in a tropical country with durian? If not, you should read my durian-flavoured post. Ha ha ha
If you are not from a tropical country, you should first get acquainted with a very tropical fruit. This is durian, it has a skin with thorns and has a very, very sharp aroma of money. It's so sharp and fragrant, sometimes people who are not suited to sharp smells, tend to dislike this fruit.
However, it's different with my family. Since I was little, my late father has introduced me to this fruit, so my mum, dad, sister and I all love it. So, last weekend me, my sister, my brother-in-law and my two nephews went to Lolong. Lolong is one of the best durian producing villages in our district. It is located in Karanganyar sub-district.
It's not far away, just about 15 minutes by driving casually, we arrived at our destination.
Sigarung Durian Farm
Although there are many expensive and diverse durian variants out there, Kebun Durian Sigarung only serves their own local variants. The only difference is the price variant. The price depends on the size. If it is large, it will be more expensive and small is relatively cheap.
To choose what kind of durian, I honestly don't know. My brother-in-law knows better how to choose. My brother chooses the same size as the big ones, it's just that the colour of the skin is different for me. I forgot to ask why.
When opened, this local durian is not as colourful as mussang king or durian montong. It was pale in colour, but still tasted leggy. Indeed, the flesh was not very thick. But, for me, it's still delicious.
Everyone enjoyed this moment. Eating with family means bonding. And that is very meaningful. Unfortunately, my mum didn't come along because she had other important things to do. So we will bring my mum home.
