Nihon No Noel Tea Time in Chiang Mai

Christmas is around the corner, guys. We, Asean peeps might not celebrate it as much, still we love the vibe of it and try to find a way to enjoy this festive time. During our trip in Chiang Mai, one of my good friends, V suggested that she and I should check out this japanese green teahouse.

I, as the last green tea lover in my hometown, didn't want to be rude and thought to myself that if I don't go with her, I'll probably never go on my own. So, I agreed to give it a taste and this place really exceeded my expectations.

said in their website to showcase what Magokoro Teahouse is for. They served real traditional Japanese green tea, modern green tea and small desserts that goes along with all those drinks.

We arrived there in the afternoon time. I remembered it was a little crowded too. Fortunately we still managed to get the table and order some drinks, but unfortunately no tea ceremony for us this time. 😔

The christmas tree at the ordering counter was cute though.

🍵 Inside the Teahouse 🍵

There are 2 seperated zone that you can choose to sit ; Inside the teahouse or outside in the garden. Well, that day we didn't have a lot of options so we were sitting inside at first. It looked something like this.

Later on there were some available tables outside. We asked to move there and the staffs were so nice to not only let us move, but also promised to bring the order to us. This is the garden.

Our number is 11 and we got this cute reserved wooden sign too. While waiting for our order, best thing to kill time for us is... you know it, taking pictures. This is me with the garden view.

Since we arrived in the later part of the day, there wasn't much to order. Besides, we were still full from our lunch. So we just got one drink and an green tea ice cream.

The drink is for me, Iced Yuzu Honey with crystal pearls. Now, please don't hate me that I ordered non green tea drink in a teahouse. I was really not into green tea. Maybe I'd try for a official green tea ceremony, but not this time yet. I also got this cute little yuzu card saying that "I'm a fresh Yuzu" How kawaii is that. 😍

My friend got a scoop of green tea ice cream. I tried a little and it was not that bad. It was indeed green tea(y) but smooth. However, one try is enough for me.

The great thing is we get to really relax in the very peaceful garden in the nice weather afternoon.

🍵 The Photo Spot 🍵

After our small tea time, we spent a little more time taking pictures around the tea house and just absorb good Japanese teahouse vibe there. This wooden chair here is so homey. I wish I could take it home.

My favorite spot is this waterfall. Even though, it was small, it really brings the calm ambience of the place. I love sipping tea with the sound of a running waterfall.

In conclusion, the place was really nice. Even for a non green tea lover like me can still find it enjoyable with other drinks and food choices. The most impressive part is that this teahouse made me feel like I was teleported to Japan. The decoration and everything was really Japanese homey. I'd definitely come here again to experience the tea ceremony. If you love green tea and ever get the chance to come to Chiang Mai, you'll like it for sure.
