Good morning.. everyone.. hope that your doing well.. while I was in Hatyai and as I was going to head back to Malaysia, my wife and I had to try out the glutinous rice balls. So my wife saw this famous place in Hatyai. Somewhere near the chinatown, Hatyai.
Glutinous rice balls
The delicious sweet ginger soup that the rice balls were in. Chewy little ones due to the elastic nature of glutinous rice flour.
This is the shop. Next to this shop is a place where you can get your feet massaged by the same lady who prepares the dessert.
I did not know that until later after I finished eating, then she ask "Do you want foot massage?"
There are lots of little hidden gems in Hatyai city.
My wife waiting for me
I parked my car. It was already late in the afternoon. One day after this, I was to head back to Penang from Hatyai.
The pot where the magic conjuring occurs.
A great place to just stop by and have a hot bowl of dessert before heading back to the hotel.
Most shops feel as though your entering your own home
Most shop here feel like an extension of a home that the locals here would have been staying in. The classical floors. The table cloth. I don't see table cloth on tables much these days. The good old days. The altar where the lady prays.
After a while, our desserts finally arrived. Yummy little bowls.
The best way to eat these bowls of goodies was to consume them while they were still hot. We had spent a lot of our energy throughout the whole day exploring, so this was a stop to fuel up.
The menu
Everything on this menu was affordable at less than a 100 baht. The Gui lin gao. A type of jelly. The ingredients of this jelly are rather scary. If you google it.
Just another calm day in Hatyai
Opposite the shop, the temple. A chinese temple.
Some nuts in the same bowl.
After our meal, we were set to head back to the hotel to get some well deserved rest before heading back. This was the last day. Well, I went to Hatyai in January and I am tracking back my steps and enjoying documenting everything. I've been so busy recently.
Have a great day. Thank you for reading. =)
