Hi my fellow Garden lovers
How are you guys? I hope you are all having a very happy time. I haven't had a chance to post garden content in a long time. So I hope this is the right time for that. In fact, with the current high inflation, it has become difficult to maintain a balance in economic activities. It is certain that it costs more to buy the materials needed for the house. Among them, the cost of food in the kitchen should be considered. There are plants that can be grown even in a small space in our garden in such a high cost situation. After some time, an opportunity arose to land in my mother-in-law's garden. Due to the collapse of one side of the garden with the heavy rains that fell last week, her rich ginger and turmeric crops have been completely destroyed.
No matter how many crops are destroyed, my mother-in-law is not saddened by anything. Instead, due to her encouraging heart, she has grown varieties of green chili plants on the other side of the land that does not slide, and has now brought it to a productive state. In order to make anything successful, you have to start first. For that, the ground was prepared a few months ago, pits were made by adding compost and chili seeds were planted in them. Later they grew slowly and are now giving a successful harvest.
Slightly larger in size, this type of chili is more spicy. But when the nose feels that spicy smell, the tongue also salivates. When making fish, meat and mushroom curries, this variety of green chillies can be used for more flavor. As these green chillies have a high price in the market, they are even more suitable for cultivation. Chilli plants can be obtained from seeds obtained by leaving a few pods of this type of chilli to ripen on the chilli plant.
Some sacrifice and proper care should be given to get a successful chili harvest. If not, it can be destroyed by insects very quickly. One place in the mother-in-law's garden is fully reserved for the cultivation of green chillies, so a rich harvest is being obtained. Planting chilli plants in black polythene covers and taking proper care of them has been beneficial to her. It is a great relief to see such a harvest of chillies in one row.
Turkey berries are a small vegetable species that produces clusters that can be prepared in a very delicious way. We used to have a small turkey berry tree in our garden, but it quickly died due to increased water dependence. But my mother-in-law's two turkey berry trees have been properly maintained by preparing a suitable drainage system for water flow. She was asked to take the harvest home as there was a certain amount of yield from those two trees and I was very fond of eating turkey berries.
In addition to that, several types of vegetables that spread like vines were also growing. Vegetables such as long beans and snake gourd that can be prepared in a delicious manner were seen here. In fact, if you can get these kinds of vegetables in a garden with chemical fertilizers at a higher price in the market, you can also add more nutritional value.
As it rains more these days in the area where I live, the curry green plants have started to die, but you can see that the curry green plants are growing well in my mother-in-law's garden. Even though the turmeric plants were destroyed due to soil collapse, her efforts to plant a few more plants or spread more are commendable. Lady finger and lime trees are sure to bring more harvests in the future.
A few pineapple plants were seen on the side of her garden, some of which were developing small fruits. It is beneficial to grow pineapple, a fruit rich in vitamin C, which has a high value in the market. Most pineapple plants grow well even without proper maintenance.
On further investigation, ginger plants, sweet potatoes, pennywort plants could be seen everywhere in the garden. These actually contain all the nutritional components required for meals. Indeed, anyone should expect such a fertile garden and should work for it.
