Greetings, fellow Splinterlands warriors!

This time, I'm back with another story from the Brawl arena. After sitting out the previous season, I finally got to fill a spot in the lineup again and feel the heat of guild battles. The result? ClaNFT is back in second place.

For me, that's pretty satisfying. It feels like coming home after being away for a long time. But of course, this journey wasn't entirely smooth.

Out of my allotted battles, I had 6 wins. But don't be too quick to think I've suddenly turned into a Brawl monster. Four of those six wins were automatic victories because the opposing guilds didn't participate. So, in reality, I only had to fight for two victories in the arena.

And those two battles were the ones I failed to win.

One of them can be seen in my Brawl battle in the arena

This is where I once again learned a small lesson that I've encountered many times in Splinterlands: battle rules can sometimes matter more than simply bringing powerful cards.

In that battle, my opponent made very good use of Eggceleration. This ruleset increases the stats of units that are still alive at the end of each round. In other words, the longer a monster survives, the greater the threat we have to face.

Meanwhile, the Earth lineup I brought wasn't quite suited to dealing with the opponent's melee troops, which were able to maintain their armor. My Sneak monsters weren't applying enough pressure, while the tank at the front also struggled to break through the opponent's defenses.

What made me sigh the most was how the armor seemed to come back every round. I had already attacked, watched the opponent's defenses get worn down, and then the next round felt like I was facing a freshly painted wall all over again.

That's Splinterlands for you. Sometimes we think we've found the perfect recipe, only to taste it and realize we've added too much salt.

From all those battles, I only contributed 18 points to the guild. Overall, ClaNFT collected 249 points, with 83 wins and 45 losses, and eventually finished in second place.

For participants who took part in every battle, the reward was 2,050 Merits, while players with a Spellbook received 26,024 staked SPS.

For me, Brawl isn't just a place to earn rewards. It's also an interesting learning space, especially for new players. Joining a guild lets us see how other players build their strategies, deal with rulesets, and learn from losses without always having to spend money to discover our own mistakes.

Sometimes a Brawl loss is actually more useful than an easy win. It forces us to ask: “Why didn't my lineup work?” It's from that simple question that our skills gradually improve.

For now, I'm going to keep collecting Merits until I reach 10,000, and then I plan to open more cards. Hopefully, this time the contents won't be just another card that makes me say, “Oh, I got another one!”
