Nasılsınız? Umarım iyisinizdir. İyi olmaya çalışıyorsunuzdur. Bu hafta benim için çok yoğun geçti. Gerek gelen misafirler ya da benim misafir olmaya gidişim bir de üzerine evimde misafirlerin giderken bana doğum günü hediyesi olarak bıraktıkları dağınıklıklar olsun bu haftaki gibi uzun süredir bu kadar hareketli bir süreç yaşamamıştım. Ama bunların içerisinde dün en yakınımla buluştuk. Dün hayatımın en güzel içeceği ve de cheesecake'ini yedim. Neyse bunu birazdan göreceksiniz zaten.

Dün Huysuz kedi(!) gezi başında...'da olduğu gibi Kadıköy'ü bu sefer bambaşka birisiyle talan ettik. Açıkçası İstanbul'un ilçeleri arasında Kadıköy favorim değil, favorim Beşiktaş ama açıkçası Beşiktaş'ta özel araç olmadan zevkini çıkaramayacağıma inanıyorum. İkisini deneyimleme şansım olduğu için söylüyorum. Bu yüzden gerek kafeleri olsun gerekse insanları olsun Kadıköy konu tabanvay 😂 olduğunda ilk seçimim. "Tabanvay kelimesini İngilizce'ye nasıl çevireceğimi düşünmem gerekiyor 🤦‍♀ Neyse...

İlk önce işimize Bercestem'in ve benim klasiğimiz olan ve benim minik arkadaşımla da gittiğimiz Sopung'la başladık.

Bu sefer büyük ihtimalle çok aç olduğumuz için konuşmadan sadece yemek yedik ve sanırım bu yüzden de normalde bir öğünde yediğimin 3 katını yedim. Ki bu da toplamda bir günde yediğim yemek miktarının biraz daha fazlası demek oluyor. Ben ve Bercestem hâlâ nasıl bu kadar yemeği yiyebildik anlayabilmiş değiliz. Yemekler harikaydı. Bu sefer ben gimbap konusunda ısrarcı olmadım çünkü Hot Snow gimbap'ın yerini almış durumda. Ben ve bir et yemeğinin favorim olması görülmemiş şeyler bu arada...

Dün gerçekten "R.I.P. to diet" (Huzur içinde uyu diyet) günüydü. Pişman değilim 😂

Burada yaklaşık 1.5 saatte bu masayı temizledikten ve Irmak yemeklerin acısından dolayı kıvrandıktan sonra ki eklemeliyim bu seferki jajangmyoen hiç de güzel değildi, Bercestem beni hayatımda yediğim en güzel dondurmayı yemeye götürdü. Pardon, pardon. O güzelliğe dondurma demek saygısızlık olur. Irmak beni Gelato yemeye götürdü. Tabii bu süreç içerisinde Kadıköy sokakların biraz yürüdük. Çünkü Sopung'ta yediğimiz yemeğin ağırlığı sonradan çöktü üzerimize. Dediğim gibi pişman değilim 🤣

Dışarıdan çok tatlı ve sade görünen bu kafeye oturmadık çünkü Irmak'ın aklında benim için mum dikeceği bir kafe vardı. Gelotalarımızı yerken yine bir sürü dükkan gezdik ve kafelerden geçtik.

Tabii size bu tatlı kafenin seçeneklerini göstermezsem olmaz.

Fiyatlar Türkiye ortalaması için bir tık fazla gibi görünse de bence İtalyan usulü bir dondurma için her bir kuruşuna değer. Bir de kendimle ilgili bir dipnot düşeyim. İtalya'ya aşığım... Yazarken dahi derin bir iç çektim. 😂

Mevsimsel ve dönemsel olarak belli tatlar değişiklik gösteriyor. Mesela orada çalışan tatlı beyefendi ile sohbet ederken bal kabağının bu versiyonu bittikten sonra bir daha yapılmayacağından çünkü mevsiminin bittiğinden bahsetti. Tabii standart bazı tatlar var. Sade, çikolata ve bitter çikolata gibi.

Yukarıda görebileceğiniz gibi Irmak'la biz bu tatları aldık ve genelde farklı tatları alıp birbirimizden denediğimiz için aynı tatları almıyorduk fakat Straciatella'yı ben de aldığım için çok memnun kaldım. Kafenin kendi sitesine buradan ulaşabilirsiniz.

Bu 5'li içerisinden Irmak da ben de bir tek bal kabağını beğenmedik. Normalde bal kabağını çok severim ama bunda beklediğim tat çiğden çok biraz daha tatlı/pişmiş bal kabağı tadıydı. Onun dışında karamelden nefret ettiğim hâlde ona da bayıldım. Yazarken bile tekrar yemek istedim...

Yolda yürürken bilerek ara sokaklara girdik. Yolumuzu uzatmak ve tadını çıkararak yiyebilmek için ve karşımıza çıkan oldukça eski bir bina dikkatimi çekti.

Yanındaki, az da olsa görünen binanın bakımını da düşününce bu binaya bakılmamış olması beni üzdü. Bu tarz eski binalar değerlidir. Çöp gibi köşede bırakılıp bakılmaması kadar kalp kırıcı bir şey bilmiyorum...

Bu sokağı da bitirdikten sonra elimizdekiler de bitmişti ve Irmak'ın biraz da olsa sürüklemesi ile çok tatlı bir kafeye girdik.

Kafenin adı Valeria Coffee & Dessert & Brekkie ve burası eski MasterChef Türkiye katılımcılarından olan Tunahan'ın kafesi. Açıkçası geldiğimiz saatten dolayı olduğunu düşünerek azıcık kalabalık olduğu için dışarıda 1 ya da 2 dakika birileri kalkana kadar bekledik. Irmak bu kafe konusunda ısrarcıydı biraz. Sebebini birazdan anlatacağım.

Kafenin dizaynı oldukça hoşuma gitti. Sakin, huzurlu ve her şeyden önce sade. İnsanlarla uyumlu olduğunu düşündüğüm bu kafe bana o kadar huzur verdi ki iki dakikada bir esneyip durdum. Uzun zamandır hayatta kalma modunda yaşayan biri olarak biraz huzur hemen uykumu getirir oldu.

Özellikle bu merdiven duvarı ışıklandırmaları oldukça hoşuma gitti. Daha önce buna benzer bir dizaynla karşılaştığımı hatırlıyorum ama nerede olduğunu hatırlayamadım. Bunun dışında ev bitkilerinin varlığı daha da güzelleştirmiş kafeyi.

Birkaç tane daha bitki vardı fakat kalabalık olduğunu düşününce insanları oturduğum yerden kameraya almadan fotoğraf çekmem imkânsızdı ama bu güzel bitkiyi çekebildim en azından.

Mutfağın alt katta oluşundan dolayı Irmak'ın benden habersiz mum diktirme çabaları sonuçsuz kaldı. Nasıl kıvrandığını görmeniz gerekirdi 😂 Oldukça eğlenceliydi.

Menüden harika bir cheesecake siparişi verdik. 1 tane aldık çünkü ikimiz de kapasitemizi çoktan aşmıştık. Menüye buradan ulaşabilirsiniz.

Akşamüstü hava biraz serinlese ve hatta dondurma yesek bile üşümek ile bir sorunum olmadığı için ben Black Mulberry söyledim. Çok lezzetliydi. Ne tatlı ne de boştu. Tam kıvamındaydı içeçek. Irmak yürüyüş ve dondurma birleşince biraz da midesini rahatlatmak için çay söyledi.

Ve o meşhur tatlı. Ah... Bu hem dondurmanın hem de Purple Cake'in tadı öyle bir ağzımda kaldı ki hâlâ hissediyorum üzerine hiç sevmediğim haşlanmış yumurtayı yememe rağmen.

Irmak'ın çektiği bu videoda tepkimi çok rahat görebilirsiniz. Ve Irmak'ın "Çekerken çok zorlanıyorum!" demesinin sebebi yer olmadan merdiven boşluğuna doğru geriye çekilmesi idi. İki büklüm kaldı bu video çekerken 😁

Cheesecake'in tadını size nasıl tarif etsem bilemedim. Hatta 5 dakika kadar tadının güzelliğinden, yapısından ve anlamadığımız ama konuşmaktan da çekinmediğimiz terimsel birkaç şeyden de konuştuk. Normalde yaban mersinli bir yiyecekte yapay bir tat almak çok kolaydır fakat bunda kesinlikle öyle bir tat yoktu. Tabanından tutun da bütün elementlerine kadar harika bir hafiflik vardı ve büyük ihtimalle de bitirebilmemizin tek sebebi de buydu.

Daha sonrasında bu kafede 2 ya da 3 saat oturduktan sonra Irmak'la ayrıldık çünkü onun için zaman oldukça geç olmuştu. Sonrasında ise benim çok yakın başka bir arkadaşımla Silivri'nin uzun dönüş yolu için buluştuk. Hatta Irmak'ı evine bıraktığım yerin çok yakınlarında olan bir alışveriş merkezinin önünde buluşup bir yere oturduk günün yorgunluğunu atmak ve benim ilaç zamanım geldiği için.

Basit bir Sezar salata ve sosis tabağı söyledik.

Yemekten son aldığımız çatallarla aklıma fotoğraf çekmek geldi çünkü bütün yemek boyunca dedikodu yaptık. Ha bir de orada çalışanlardan birinin bakışlarının beni rahatsız ettiğinden dolayı garsona ben çirkinleşmeden bakışlarını bizden çekmesi gerektiğine dair uyarımı yaptıktan sonra ortadan kayboluşunun dedikodusu da bayağı bir döndü. Daha doğrusu bu dedikodu değildi de biraz da hadsiz insanların davranışları üzerine konuştuk desem çok daha doğru olur.

Açıkçası salatan da kızartmadan da memnun kalmadık. Üzerinde balık da pişirdikleri ızgaranın aynı gözünde de tavuğu pişirdiklerini düşünüyoruz arkadaşımla bu yüzden tadı hiç de Sezar salataymış gibi gelmedi. Sosisin ise tadı bir garip geldi bana. Bilmiyorum. Zaten sayısı azdı ve kalanlar da bunlardı.

Ve son olarak arkadaşımla birlikte ışık bulduğumuz ilk yerde fotoğraf çekindik ki bence çok tatlı çıkmışız 😁 İkimizin de ayrı ayrı olsak da böyle bir güne ihtiyacımızın olduğu gerçeği dünü daha da değerli kıldı.

Ve sonrasında ikimizin de normalden çok daha kısa sürdüğünü düşündüğümüz 2 saatlik bir Silivri yolculuğundan sonra evlere dağıldık.

Dün benim için gerçekten harika bir gündü. Oldukça eğlendim ve son yemeğim hariç aldığım hiçbir kaloriden pişman değilim 😂 Bir daha olsa bir daha yaparım...

How are you? I hope you're well. I hope you're trying to be. This week has been very busy for me. I haven't had such an active period for a long time like this week, whether it's the guests coming or my going to be a guest, or the messes left by the guests in my house as a birthday gift to me. But among these, we met with my dearest yesterday. Yesterday I had the best drink and cheesecake of my life. Anyway, you'll see this in a moment.

Yesterday in "Grumpy cat(!) on a trip..." I have plundered Kadıköy with a completely different person this time. Honestly, Kadıköy is not my favourite among the districts of Istanbul, my favourite is Beşiktaş, but frankly, I believe that I cannot enjoy Beşiktaş without a personal vehicle. I say this because I had the chance to experience both. Therefore, Kadıköy, whether it is cafes or people, is my first choice when it comes to walking around . Anyway...

First of all, we started our day with Sopung, which is Bercestem's and my classic and which we also went with my little friend.

This time we just ate without talking, probably because we were so hungry, and I think that's why I ate 3 times more than I normally eat in one meal. Which is a little more than the amount of food I eat in a day in total. Me and my Berceste still don't understand how we were able to eat so much food. The food was marvellous. This time I didn't insist on gimbap because Hot Snow has replaced gimbap. By the way, it's unusual for me and a meat dish to be my favourite.

Yesterday was really "R.I.P. to diet" day. No regrets 😂

After cleaning this table for about 1.5 hours and Irmak was writhing from the spicy food, and I must add that this time the jajangmyoen was not good at all, my Berceste took me to eat the best ice cream I have ever eaten in my life. Sorry, sorry, sorry. It would be disrespectful to call it ice cream. Irmak took me to eat Gelato. Of course, we walked a little on the streets of Kadıköy during this process. Because the heaviness of the food we ate at Sopung fell on us later. As I said, I have no regrets 🤣

We didn't sit in this cafe, which looked very sweet and simple from the outside, because Irmak had in mind a cafe where she would light a candle for me. While eating our gelotas, we walked around a lot of shops and cafes.

Of course, I have to show you the options of this sweet cafe.

Although the prices may seem a bit high for the average in Turkey, I think it is worth every cent for an Italian style ice cream. Let me also make a note about myself. I am in love with Italy... I let out a deep sigh even while writing. 😂

Certain flavours vary seasonally and periodically. For example, while chatting with the sweet gentleman working there, he mentioned that after this version of pumpkin was finished, it would not be made again because the season was over. Of course there are some standard flavours. Like vanilla, chocolate and dark chocolate.

As you can see above, Irmak and I had these flavours and we didn't get the same flavours because we usually try different ones from each other, but I was very pleased with Straciatella. You can find the cafe's own website here.

Of these 5, neither Irmak nor me liked the pumpkin. I normally love pumpkin, but the taste I was expecting was a little sweeter/cooked pumpkin rather than raw. Apart from that, even though I hate caramel, I loved it. Even as I was writing, I wanted to eat it again...

As we were walking on the road, we deliberately went into the side streets to extend our way and enjoy our meal and a very old building attracted my attention.

Considering the maintenance of the building next to it, which is slightly visible, I was upset that this building was not taken care of. Such old buildings are valuable. I don't know anything as heartbreaking as being left in the corner like rubbish and not being looked after...

After we ended this street, the ones we had were over and we entered a very sweet cafe with a little dragging of Irmak.

The name of the cafe is Valeria Coffee & Dessert & Brekkie and this is the cafe of Tunahan, a former MasterChef Turkey participant. Obviously, thinking that it was because of the time we came, we waited outside for 1 or 2 minutes until someone got up because it was a little crowded. Irmak was a little insistent about this cafe. I will explain the reason in a moment.

I really liked the design of the cafe. Calm, peaceful and above all, simple. This cafe, which I think is in harmony with people, gave me so much peace that I kept yawning every two minutes. As someone who has been living in survival mode for a long time, a little peace immediately made me sleepy.

I especially liked this staircase wall lighting. I remember I've seen a similar design before, but I couldn't remember where. Apart from that, the house plants make the cafe even more beautiful.

There were a few more plants, but considering the crowd, it was impossible for me to take photos without filming people from where I was sitting, but at least I was able to take this beautiful plant.

Since the kitchen was downstairs, Irmak's efforts to get a candle without my knowledge were in vain. You should have seen how she struggled 😂 It was quite fun.

We ordered a great cheesecake from the menu. We took 1 because we were both already over our capacity. You can find the menu here.

Even though it was a bit chilly in the evening and even if we had ice cream, I didn't have a problem with being cold, so I ordered Black Mulberry. It was delicious. It was neither sweet nor bland. The drink was just right. Irmak ordered tea to relax her stomach a bit after walking and ice cream combined.

And the famous dessert. Oh... The taste of both the ice cream and the Purple Cake stayed in my mouth so much that I still feel it even though I ate the boiled egg, which I don't like at all.

You can see my reaction very easily in this video taken by Irmak. And the reason why Irmak said "I'm having a hard time filming!" was that she was stretched backwards towards the stairwell without a place. She stayed doubled over while shooting this video 😁

I don't know how to describe the taste of the cheesecake to you, we even talked for about 5 minutes about how good it tasted, the texture and a few other terminology that we didn't understand but didn't hesitate to talk about. Normally, it is very easy to get an artificial taste in a blueberry dish, but there was absolutely no such taste in this one. There was a wonderful lightness from the base to all the elements and that was probably the only reason why we were able to finish it.

After sitting in this cafe for 2 or 3 hours, Irmak and I left because it was quite late for her. Afterwards, we met with another very close friend of mine for the long way back to Silivri. In fact, we met in front of a shopping centre very close to the place where I dropped Irmak home and we sat down somewhere to relieve the tiredness of the day and because it was time for my medicine.

We ordered a simple Caesar salad and sausage platter.

I thought of taking a photo with the last ones we took because we were gossiping during the whole meal. Oh, and there was also a lot of gossip about the disappearance of one of the staff there after I warned the waiter that he should take his gaze away from us before I got nasty because his gaze bothered me. To be more accurate, this was not gossip, it would be more appropriate to say that we talked a little bit about the behaviour of insolent people.

To be honest, we were not satisfied with the salad and the fries. My friend and I think that they cooked the chicken in the same grill on which they cooked the fish, so it didn't taste like a Caesar salad at all. The sausage tasted strange to me. I don't know. There were few of them anyway and these were the ones that were left.

And finally, we took a photo with my friend at the first place where we found light, which I think we looked very cute 😁 The fact that we both needed such a day, even though we were apart, made yesterday even more valuable.

And then, after a 2-hour journey to Silivri, which we both thought was much shorter than usual, we went home.

Yesterday was a really great day for me. I had a lot of fun and I don't regret any calories I ate except for my last meal 😂 I would do it again if I could do it again...

I hope I will have the chance to repeat such a day again with the people I love and I hope you have a good days.
