It took me a total of three days to move from Tier 2 to Tier 1 of the Silver League. Yes, it took a bit longer, but I didn't play all that much—I haven't been able to play very actively this season—yet it is still an achievement, as this milestone is part of the season's overall journey. Just yesterday, I mentioned that I’ve taken a break from purchasing and playing the Wild Pass this season—mainly because I want to analyze the reward distribution across both modes. I had noticed that, despite playing roughly the same number of battles, the rewards I received when playing only Modern were lower compared to the rewards from the two seasons where I played Wild as well; somehow, playing Wild improved my in-game rewards even though my battle volume remained similar. That is why I want to confirm this hypothesis by playing only Modern this season—to see if playing Wild alongside Modern truly impacts in-game rewards.
So, throughout this season, I will focus entirely on the Modern format and aim to play and win as many battles as I did last season; only then will I realize how significant the difference in rewards actually is—or if there is any difference at all. I have just unlocked Tier 1 of the Modern Silver League and received the welcome loot for this tier, which includes three major chests along with six minor ones. Although using potions—specifically the Alchemy Potion—hasn't really made a noticeable difference in the past, I still make it a point to use both of my potions every time.
From the first six minor chests, I received a common scroll, some merits, and an entry ticket, along with three cards—two of which are Rare. While I don't really use the Common card much, I use both Rare cards in my battles every day. I have upgraded one of them, the Anchor-Hex Adept, to Level 2; at this level, it gains the 'Divine Shield' ability—a fantastic upgrade that has led me to use the card much more frequently. I have also upgraded the second card, the Death-element 'Gravebrand Warlock', to Level 2. It gains an excellent ability called 'Swiftness' at this level; as the name suggests, it boosts the entire team's speed by +1, making it a highly beneficial trait for the whole lineup. I’ve started using this card more often since the upgrade because its speed used to be a major drawback, but with this ability, that stat gets a +1 boost, making it much more effective.
And now, for the showstopper: after the Minor Chests, I opened the Major Chests and found the first Epic card for my deck. It is fantastic—not just because it is an Epic, but because its stats are impressive. Although the mana cost is a bit high, using this card in high-mana battles can be hugely beneficial. It is a Dragon-element card with 2 ranged attack power, boasting a solid 5 armor, 8 health points, and 4 speed points. It also possesses two abilities: 'Flying,' which helps evade melee attacks by 25%, and 'Immunity,' which protects it from magic debuffs and 'Cripple.' All in all, this card is amazing—both in appearance and stats—making it the best loot I’ve received from the Arcana reward system so far.
