Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!
Season 112 was marked by start of The Great Burning (more on that in next section), but it was also a season of big card purchases on my part, as I'm getting so very close to maxing my CL deck. I've had another trip of to leaderboards that finished like all the previous ones - with failure on the last day.
Before I get into how I did this season, let's check out what happened in the world of Splinterlands during this Season 112 that took part in the first part of June 2023.
The start of the season brought very exciting update which marked the start of 5 Years Anniversary event - The Great Burning! (details can be found 馃憠 here 馃憟).
At the moment of writing this post the event has already started and there was over 370mil DEC and 160mil DEC-B burned ALREADY! 馃敟馃敟馃敟
I burned 20k DEC, just to have a chance of winning some prizes (although seeing the leaderboard, I'm not really holding my breath).
This event lasts 9 more days, and after that there will be a raffle for the prizes. 馃
Second update marked the end of the initial duration for buying survey boosts. You can still survey deeds, but there is no longer the option to add Building In A Box, Time Crystals, or Unstable Totem boosts.
There were also some updates to improve the market performance regarding API requests and some general updates regarding practice bots in novice leagues who are now explicitly excluded from the leaderboard (because it could happen for them to temporarily show up on the Bronze leaderboard).
Third update of the season brought the previously announced Guild Contribution Rework.
- The upgrading of Guild buildings has been switched from Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) to Guild Power, which is purchasable with DEC or DEC-B. This change makes it possible for players to take 90% of Guild Power back when leaving a guild, rather than it being permanently donated. For full details of this change, see the announcement post here.
- Any previous donations of DEC to a guild building remain permanent and cannot be taken with you if you leave a guild.
- This change introduces a 7-day probationary period before gaining most guild benefits to encourage people to join guilds for the long term.
- Blood Stones and Power Stones, for use with Gladius Cases, can now also be purchased with DEC-B.
There were also some General Updates about cards/history API that has been improved to include the combine history of a card, as well as the transfer history. They are now capturing mint information on the cards themselves, logging the block and transaction information. This data will appear on the cards/find API results.
Note: This will only appear on cards generated after this patch. They will look at back populating this information onto older cards in the future, as a separate project.
Some performance improvements were made to how users card collection data is get. This is likely not noticeable as an individual player, but reduces load on the system overall, as this is the most frequent information being queried.
During the season 112 I managed to stake 3,000 SPS bringing the total just over 11k staked SPS. This was a big spike comparing to previous months, mostly due to great EOS reward and my participation in tournaments.
The USD value of my SPS portfolio went up (about $10) even though the market price is still going down (it is at $0.016 compared to $0.021 last season 馃槸).
My goal is to keep staking as much SPS I get especially now when we know what is coming soon.
With prices of cards still being so low is bought some cards again, just like I did last few seasons, spending over 500k DEC.
This season I focused on epic and legendary cards, since I'm mostly finished with upgrading commons and rare. Legendary CL summoners are still quite expensive for me to upgrade, so I'll do them gradually.
My current collection is now just over 218k CP (plus 23.8k CP in Gladiator cards and 112k CP in Soulbound reward cards), and that is a jump of 100k CP in span of a season, or a bit more then two weeks.
This season I played in Modern Gold league for Diamond season chests. With my deck being stronger from all the purchases I made, my win-rate improved very nicely.
Going into the last day of the season I was sitting comfortably in top 10 on the leaderboards so I decided not to play until the EOS so I don't mess up my rating. But as the day progressed and people put in their battles, I started falling down the list so I was forced to go and try to win some matches and try to get back into top 10.
Of course, I lost a couple of matches, losing 35 rating for each one, and the ones that I won gave only a couple of rating points so I even dropped out of top 20. That position would yield in 4k DEC, but I calculated that it would be better to advance to Diamond and fight for Diamond Season chests next season.
I had just 3227 rating at that point and that secured Diamond 2 promotion that I needed to reset back to Gold 1 and to play for Diamond season chest in next season.
Lets see how this season turned out in numbers.
I finished the season with staggering win rate of 74% and earned record breaking 76 Diamond season chests, together with another record 223 daily focus chests (which makes it an average of awesome 13.1 chests per day). So the renting more cards resulted in better performance (as it should), but we still have to see if it will result in any extra profit.
Compared to last season this is an improvement in win rate by 7%, 15 more season chests and 62 more daily chests. Ok, this season was three days longer so we can't compare the raw numbers, but the average chests/day is greater by 1.6 so that is a clear indication of improvement.
The SPS chart below shows that my SPS earnings were pretty constant during the whole season, with a big spike on the last day - that is the SPS from EOS chest. Battle SPS is still most often much higher then SPS rewards from chests and I don't think this will ever change.
The rating chart below shows my steady climb towards Diamond rating, without any "trips to unknown". Starting from Gold 1 really helps, because I get to my "normal" earnings quite early in the season.
I ended the season at 3227 rating, enough for Diamond 2, quite comfortably. This way my rating will reset at 2500 - Gold 1 league - for a nice start of the next season.
After nice EOS rewards last season, I expected fireworks with these 15 extra Diamond chests (total 76). Lets see my much higher rental cost this season will be justified by some nice rewards.
As you can see I did get a lot of cards, but no legendaries, not even an epic. What really made me happy was the 721 SPS (!!!), I've never got anything even close to that amount. It's all going straight to staking, as I have to prepare for upcoming SPS staking reward requirements.
For the ones that like numbers, I made a recap of the whole season.
| Income | Amount |
|---|---|
| DEC earned from rentals | 3,715.715 |
| SPS earned from battles | 271.107 |
| SPS earned from chests | 877.405 |
| SPS earned from tournaments | 349.000 |
| Outcome | Amount |
| DEC spent on rentals and fees | -23,696.981 |
| SPS spent on tournament fees | 97 |
| PROFIT (DEC) | -19,981.266 |
| PROFIT (SPS) | 1,400.512 |
Total DEC income from rentals totally plummeted this last 2 months as I combined a lot of cards that I used to rent and now use them in battles. Not even splinterrents can help me with that.
If that wasn't bad enough I spent even more DEC on renting then last season because I got promoted to a higher tier (Tier 4) guild, and brawls got really hard now. On top of that I started playing some tournaments and you really need to be on top of your game in those.
On the bright side SPS earnings were 250% better then last season (mainly because of the great EOS rewards) but it's all going into staking, so I will have to find another source of DEC (maybe rewards from this post? 馃槃).
It is so much easier to track your earning now with the new Currency Activity feature in-game, kudos to Splinterlands developer team for making this happen.
I explained how to use this feature, export it to Excel and do the calculations with the data in one of my previous posts. If you missed it, you can find it in the link below:
And finally, for the ones that like to look at the pretty card pictures (like me) I will show you my whole season recap of record breaking chest winnings - all 299 of them (Diamond EOS and daily Gold chests combined). 馃槏
As you can see I won some legendary soulbound cards during the season, among them 3 bcx of GOLD FOIL LEGENDARY Kulu Mastermind. Add to that 720 SPS from EOS chests, and you get one of the most successful seasons of my career. Here is the recap in numbers:

With start of June started the new giveaway event on Splinterlands TV. This event will be live through the whole summer and is called Summoner Summer.
The Summoner Summer promotion, as the name states, will be very summoner heavy. There will be a mix of Chaos Legion summoners, Alpha and Beta summoners at various levels, Gold Foil Promo Summoners plus a max Delwyn Dragonscale, and dozens of Untamed Rare and Legendary Summoners including the grand prize GOLD FOIL BYZANTINE KITTY!!
At the time of writing this posts, still no one won this card. But just so you know, that Kitty has my name written all over it, so don't be sad when I get her. 馃槏
Big shout out to @deadzy for making this beautiful splintershare site, where you can see all your chest rewards for last couple of months and easily share it with your fiends and family.
Also, I have to mention guys from @splinterrents. Without their rental service I wouldn't be able to manage my rentals, have time to play AND make awesome blog posts. I highly recommend this service! 馃憤
And this last season rewards screenshot, the season summary, was made on splex.gg site.
Special thanks to @lenonmc21 for giving me advices about the text formatting to make my posts even better. 馃憣
