Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Commander Slade Battlefield Exploits

Greetings,

Wonderful day on the Pretoria Lands,

How are your progression as the adventure gets more exciting after almost seven days in the new season?

The rulesets update and the release of powerful reward cards had created a new group of strategies developed and effective in all leagues.

In this special engagement challenge article, my presentation will highlight the incredible performance of Commander Slade in a team of water warriors.

Have you got an umbrella nearby?

If not, you better grab one, otherwise you are going to be splashed on.

Commander entered three time in the arena during this challenge.

The water tanker Commander Slade is my favorite damage holder in the water elemental cards. His large volume of health and shield gives him an interesting profile to face melee and range warriors while being exposed to enemy strikes at the first spot in the lineup.

The rulesets of all these three battles showed an advantage to play on the offensive with the melee warriors and build a defense against archer and magic fighters.

Commander Slade and his summoner Possibilus offered a rare combination where Reach ability allows to put in second spot a double attack warriors like Sentry or Raider to inflict maximum damage in the first two round on the board.

I had not regret placing Commander on the first row as a tanker and busy fighters.

Commander Slade Combat Link 1

It was easier to win in the second and third battle than it was in the first battle.

My opponent each time the opposite team had a lineup with a few numbers of magic warriors, the victory was perfect on my side.

Spitter saved my team during the first combat. Repair shield and triage had a positive effect on the backline troops.

Sentry Coastal presents on the second spot provided a constant support to the commander assaults. The melee strategies under Possibilus command are best excetuted with Slade and Sentry.

The potential weakness of all the strategies developed in theses three games is magic attacks. It was for that reason the silence ability was in the arena. Mandarin did a magnificent defensive work during the first battle.

I would have lost if the triage healing were not activated or the repair from Spitter the archer did not limited the damage done to Slade and Raider.

If you have not tried the Possibilus (Reach, Trample gift to all friendly warriors) melee combo yet, you are missing much fun on the battlefield.

This presentation of Commander Slade has reached is final point. How did you find the performance of Slade in the arena?

Which battle do you think has the best strategies regarding the rulesets?

My plan is to level up my army of Reward card warriors from the Rebellion series. Slade will be maxed out as soon as I get my hand on the cards in the market.
