Hello fellow warriors! Trust you are all doing well and having a great day.

Today I want to share a breakdown of a Rare Water monster called Commander Slade. This card costs 10 mana to deploy, but it is built like a massive fortress. Starting with 5 armor, 8 health, and two defensive abilities right at level 1, it is designed to hold the frontline against almost anything.

Let’s take a look at its stats, abilities, and how to place it properly in your Water lineups!

Card Stats and Level Breakdown

Commander Slade is a heavy tank through and through. It combines thick armor with high health to absorb huge amounts of damage.

Here is how its stats grow as you level it up:

  • Level 1 to 2: Starts with 3 melee attack, 4 to 5 speed, 5 armor, and 8 to 9 health. It gives you two abilities right away: Demoralize and Void Armor.
  • Level 3 to 5: Melee attack jumps to 4, speed stays at 5, armor goes up to 6 and 7, while health stays at 9. At level 4, it unlocks its third ability (Phase).
  • Level 6 to 8 (Max Level): At level 6, health reaches 10. At max level (level 8), it hits 5 melee attack, 6 speed, 7 armor, and 10 health while unlocking its fourth ability. Fully maxed out, it carries 2,415 collection power.

Understanding its Abilities

This card gets some of the best defensive abilities in the entire game:

  1. Demoralize (Level 1): Reduces the melee attack of all enemy monsters on the field by -1.

  1. Void Armor (Level 1): Magic attacks hit this card's armor before they can touch its health pool.

  1. Phase (Level 4): Gives magic attacks a chance to miss when hitting this monster, based on its speed.

  1. Fourth Ability (Level 8): Adds even more defense at max level.

The combination of Void Armor and Demoralize right at level 1 is incredible. Most tanks get melted by magic damage, but Void Armor forces magic attackers to chew through all 5 to 7 armor first before hurting Commander Slade's health!

How to Set It Up on the Battlefield

Because of its heavy stats and defensive abilities, Commander Slade belongs in Position 1 (your main front tank).

Here is why this strategy works so well:

  • Demoralize immediately lowers the enemy team's melee damage output from round 1.
  • Void Armor makes it an all-around tank that can survive both physical and magic attacks.
  • It is perfect for High Mana matches (45+ mana) where you need a big, reliable wall upfront to protect your backline damage dealers.

Final Thoughts

Commander Slade is one of the toughest Water tanks you can bring into battle. Its ability to absorb magic hit after magic hit into its armor while weakening enemy melee attackers makes it extremely annoying for opponents to break down.

Have you tried using Commander Slade as your main tank in Water lineups? How do you like pairing it with other Water monsters? Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you so much for stopping by to read my post. See you all on the battlefield!
