I took photos of these flies on two different occasions, and judging from their color and size, I guess they are coming from the same species.
I tried to look them up on Google, but it only suggested this species of flies, Limnophora tigrina from Limnophora Genus which is characterized by the silver band that is visible on its thorax.
You can see the solitary flies that I managed to take on one occasion below, but unfortunately I only get one photos at that time.
Then on the second encounter, I found them while mating, you know having a good time. But being a photographer, of course, I could not let that occasion pass that easily, so I decided to take photos of them while mating.
Can you spot the size difference of the male and the female? it seem the male is quite smaller in size compare to the female one.
here is the shot from the side, and you can see how the male try to inject its mating feature to the female.

But then they might think that I have disturbed their private time, or maybe the short mating has been concluded. When I wanted to take another shot, they flew away, and I could only get this photo of them leaving the scene.
