Hello there, splinterlands card collectors. I'm back with another post for the weekly Battle Mage Secrets challenges. A new week brings with it a new theme. And this week's theme is discussing the Briar Patch's rules. With these rules, how can the battle be won? This will be covered in this post. Let's take a look!
Let's start with my experience with the Briar patch ruleset. This picture is both my and the enemy's formation.
Not only the rules of the Briar Patch apply in this battle. Two more rule sets influence the outcome of the battle: Aimless and Ferocity.
Before we get into combat formations, here's a recap of the battle.
Briar Patch : All monster have the thorns ability
Aimless : All Monsters have the scattershot ability
Ferocity : All Monsters have the fury ability
Mana Cap : 23 point.

| 6th - Magi Necrosi | Will be safe as long as they are not in the front position, thanks to their ability to attack snipe, and camouflage. However, due to scattershot rules, he may be hit by an opponent's attack. | |
| 7th - Dark Ferryman | On the back, as a protector and attacker. With a health point deduction and 2 points of arrow attacks, the opponent's health points will be depleted. |
What about the formation of the opponent?
I'll go over the opponent's formation. According to the enemy battle's history, the earth element is the most powerful formation. This element may be used in conjunction with the briar patch rule. However, with a mana cap of 23 points, only monsters with low mana can be lowered to fill combat slots. or send monsters with a lot of mana, but with the mana cap, only 3 or 2 monsters are enough.
The enemy had sent magical monsters, it turned out. So that my summoner's power can help reduce the effect of additional magic attacks from the opposing summoner. The briar patch rule does not affect the opponent's formation.

While the highlights of each round are shown below:
The summoner's buffs and debuffs are applied to the monsters in the first round. I was able to reduce 1 point of health per enemy monster.
Because of the bonus monsters without mana, I put Corpse Fiend first As a sacrifice. The result is the riftwing can gain a 1-health point from the scavenger ability. The Spirit Hoarder is quickly dispatched by Magi necrosi. Venari spreads his poison to the opposing monsters right away. The scattershot ability causes attacks to be unpredictable in their direction; fortunately, my monster has 4 health points, so they can survive enemy attacks in the early rounds.
Queen Mycelia, who had been poisoned, was eliminated at the start of the second round. That means more health points for the riftwing. Aside from that, the fungus fiend couldn't withstand the attacks of my monsters. Regal Peryton successfully avoided my monster's attack this round.
Magi necrosi defeated the already critical Regal Peryton in the third round. Although Djinn Biljka survived the magical attack thanks to his voidability, the attack was poisonous. As a result, when he was left alone at the front, the dark ferryman dispatched Djinn Biljka with an arrow attack. Victory is in my favor.
What matters in the Briar patch rules?
If you see the thorn logo, you are bound by the briar patch rule. As a result, there are several critical points to consider to win. If you can exploit those rules, average cards can beat great cards as well. as long as it follows the Briar patch rules. So, what is the most important factor in winning the fight?
- If you want to avoid thorn counterattacks, which result in a 2 health point loss, use monsters with magic attacks and arrow attacks.
- Using a monster's melee attack will result in a thorn counterattack.
- The reflection shield ability will mitigate the thorn effect's damage. So, even if it's a melee attack monster, consider including one with this ability.
- Use a summoner that reduces the ability of magic attacks and the ability of arrow attacks because the opponent may avoid using melee monsters. Thaddius Brood, Quix the Devious, Bortus, Contessa Lament, and Mimosa Nightshade are all characters.
Last Thoughts
In this fight, I was able to use the summoner's power to reduce the opponent's ability while avoiding the briar patch's effects. I chose riftwing, a tank with a lot of health points. Avoiding casting melee monsters is indeed the best strategy, but I mounted a corpse fiend because it doesn't require mana. Also as a sacrifice so that Riftwing's health points can be increased.
Aside from that, using monsters with snipe abilities and fast attacks helps get rid of enemies early on before they can attack. Also, the summoner's ability to reduce the opponent's health points aids in quickly dispatching the opponent's monsters.
Other ruleset combinations affect the briar patch rules in this battle. Because long-range attacks cannot be predicted with the scattershot rule, teams with many monsters outperform teams with few monsters. It is possible to accomplish this by equipping monsters with small amounts of mana.
Finally, comparing health points is beneficial. The more health points it has, the longer it can fight.
As a result, this is my post about the Briar Patch ruleset. The combination of this ruleset and other additional rules in the battle will make predicting the outcome of the fight difficult. Continue to fight hard to get the most out of this ruleset.
