Low mana battles are very difficult and confusing because you have a low mana capacity but there are many monster cards. Because of that you stay confused about which monster to select and where to place it.
And when there are three rule sets and some of them have restrictions it increases the confusion even more. You have to decide which monsters to choose and how to position them.
Today's 16 mana battle was very interesting and confusing. It had three special rule sets and I had to make my strategy and plan according to them.
Rule Set 1: Briar Patch
In Briar Patch all units both allied and enemy get the Thorns ability.
Thorns returns true damage to the attacker whenever a melee attack hits. That means every melee attacker receives damage back after attacking.
This is a dangerous ability for melee attackers. Your melee monsters get eliminated quickly because they keep taking heavy return damage.
(Best strategy) Avoid melee attackers completely. If you have no other choice select melee monsters with lower attack power so they receive less return damage.
Rule Set 2: Up to Eleven
This rule set gives every unit the Amplify ability.
Amplify increases the damage of punishment abilities like Retaliate, Corrosive Ward, Magic Reflect, Return Fire and Thorns by +1.
In simple words all punishment abilities become much stronger making this rule set a complete disaster for attackers.
(Best strategy) Select monsters that already have punishment abilities. They become much more powerful and can punish enemy units very effectively.
Rule Set 3: Might Makes Right
In this rule set you can only summon units that cost 3 mana or more.
It doesn't matter whether they are melee ranged or magic monsters. Any monster with less than 3 mana is disabled.
In short low mana monster cards have no value in this rule set.
My Strategy ?? Keeping all three rule sets in mind my plan was:
Unfortunately I had very few cards like that in my deck. I had to use the limited monsters that were available.
I selected a magic Archon to increase my team's magic power. But that was my mistake because my frontline monster was a melee attacker.
I should have chosen an Archon that boosted my frontline monster instead. The battle was confusing and I made the wrong choice.
The Battle Result
The battle lasted only 4 rounds.
My frontline monster had 6 health 2 armor and 1 melee attack. Compared to the enemy it was stronger because the enemy had only 6 health and no armor.
That extra armor helped me win the battle and it turned into a fantastic victory.
The battle itself was not the most exciting part. The real highlight was the combination of rule sets and restrictions.
That's why I wanted to make content about it because of the special rulesets. It shows how important it is to build a deck with different types of monster cards so you have flexibility in battles like this.
My deck is still limited so I struggled in this battle but I still managed to secure the win
What would your strategy be in this type of rule set? Which monsters would you select? Will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
