Crafting 4 Christmas | Part 17 | Crafting an angel ornament | DIY

Crafting 4 Christmas part 17.png

Introduction

After crafting quite a few different ornaments, I realized that I didn't have any angel ornament for our Christmas tree. Time to change this today. This one can be double fun when you use your child's hands as a template for the angel wings and add new ones every year. You can add the year you made this craft and (if you have more than one child) the name on the back of the angel.

You can do this craft together with younger children, which makes it extra fun.

The things you need

You can be creative with this one and use different colors of course, for example, use another color for the hair or dress. Maybe you even want another color for the wings. I will also show these items in the pictures with instructions.

  • White cardboard, big enough to draw to hands
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • 16 rhinestones
  • A rectangle piece of pink cardboard for the dress
  • A round-ish part of yellow cardboard for the face
  • Cardboard in the color of your liking for the hair, I used brown
  • Glitter foam to make a halo
  • A small piece of ribbon
  • Glue gun

I used my daughter's hands as a template because I thought it would be a fun idea to see how big her hands are every Christmas. I think of repeating this craft every year just for the fun of it and seeing the wings on the angel grow.

The end result

I personally find it a simple and cool craft, but a little bit too big to hang in our tree. I will find another spot in the house for this angel. Both my daughter and I enjoyed this craft, and she's proud of her own angel.

Hopefully, you enjoyed this part as well, I have 8 more parts of Crafting 4 Chrismast coming up for the holiday season 2020. See you in the next part!
