Greetings Ladies of La Colmena, today I join the Contest #156 this week, with a few questions by @joanstewart
1️⃣ Share a story on how you overcome feeling despondent, disillusioned, or filled with skepticism when you realize exactly what's going on around you?
"Absence is the mother of disillusion." - British Proverb
2️⃣ What makes you hold onto hope? Enlighten us on something you do to create a safe, positive space around yourself, to boost the belief or conviction to always look for the cloud with a silver lining, even if it means starting again?
"Don't loose hope, no situation is permanent." - African Proverb
1️⃣ This year has been really difficult for me, in different aspects both professionally and personally, full of uncertainties and disappointments. That feeling that the more you make an effort, the more it seems to be in vain, an overwhelming feeling of feeling like a burden or in a locked box that if you go out you take many blows, although I also understand that this is life; however, within that statement, I have reflected that it is okay not to be well that, while one feels good doing or giving something that comes from your heart, even if this is not reciprocated by the other person, it is a small effort to make one's world, much better.
These are some of the things I do and think about when I feel defeated, wanting to do nothing, but when I listen, see the things I like and do the things I am passionate about, I relax and continue on my way. I also see stories of overcoming and that many of these famous people or those who have created great things, at one point felt that way, even did not receive the support of those who needed it most, however, that did not stop us and more were the desire to project themselves towards a better way than being stranded in the darkness, because the worst thing is not to be alone, the worst thing is not wanting to leave that loneliness.
2️⃣ Sometimes, hope can be cruel, depending on how you take it and how you carry it in your life; recalling the Greek myth about Pandora's box, why was this optimistic mood inside a box containing all the evils of the world? There are several versions or reflections on this, some consider that hope is an evil, because it leaves the person with his hands tied, preventing him to accept reality and move forward, it is like fear, it paralyzes.
Others relate it as a consolation, necessary to overcome evils, that's why it stayed inside the box, because having hope is a minimum possibility that you can achieve what you propose. In particular, I believe that hope must go hand in hand with confidence and vice versa, even when it seems that they are opposites, since one perseveres more than the other, hope gives you the impulse and confidence nourishes it.
So, when hard times happen to me, I try to trust in myself and in my abilities, although I still need to consolidate that. What makes me cling to hope are several things, among them: that tomorrow will be a new day, I don't know if it will be better or worse, but if I manage to wake up and open my eyes, I'm already winning; that I have my family and pets by my side and that a great part of them depend on me, for that reason I can't let myself get discouraged. Besides, I impose the time and the limit myself, if others progress faster or slower, it is not something that should affect me, because little by little and with my own hands I am building my way.
