Warm greetings ladies and hope we are all enjoying good health. Its has being a while, but this interesting topic is one that interest me so much. Thank you dear @cautive-30 for this amazing topic for this week of Ladies of Hive Contest.
My interest is on the 1️⃣ which is: If forgiveness is especially beneficial for those who are able to let go of the past grudges, the invitation to to reflect upon is: Do we always have to forgive? Why forgive someone who doesn’t deserve forgiveness? Should we always forgive?
Forgiveness most times as we see it should not just be for the other person judging from why should we forgive those who has hot us in one way or the other, especially those who do not deserve our forgiveness? And reflecting on the above topic, should we always forgive?
The answer is that we should not always forgive but I see forgiveness as that one first step we need to take towards healing ❤️🩹 our inward emotions and brokenness we are left with from that hurt that left us shattered. This means that forgiving is not just for the others person but a way to take and put away that burden we are carrying which keeps bringing us down from time to time.
The bible made us to understand how important it is to forgive those who has hurt us because as humans we are never perfect in all that we do and will never ever be perfect 👍 which is why we consider forging the other person to be able to let go off that heaviness feelings which we know will never disappear if we don’t take it upon ourselves to let go, even though we know the other person doesn’t deserve our forgiveness.
Not forgiving the other person most times are like carrying a load on our head, especially those that brings pain and emotions, dragging us down and affecting our mental health. So I see forgiveness as beneficial to that person who has chosen to let go because it automatically brings new feelings once the grudges are left behind, leaving us with new decisions on how to move forward.
And despite how hard it might seem to forgive, forgetting every hurt or wrongs we have encountered in life is even harder but I tell you that our mental health is the most important when we are entangled, struggling that have peace of mind which is why we must let go for our own benefit. Although sometimes its easier said than done, because hurt we receive from others, even those we have forgiven once or twice might be repeated leaving us with reflections from the past.
However, we must not always forgive everyone who has hurt us especially those we don’t want to forgive. This might be the part of sin we have to live with considering how we are Christians and what the Bible taught us. And again, as far as we are not affected mentally in anyway with what ever hurt we have received from the other person, we should not be forced to forgive because many has always believed in how they will be forgiven with whatever they do. This is called manipulation, especially if it’s coming from those we love dearly.
