When you are battling in this rule of combat, you must remember two things: Numbers are an advantage and Taunt can be bad. The more monsters you have, the more attacks you can have in a turn, which, eliminates the effects of Divine Shield.
Taunt can be both good or bad but I don't suggest it. Divine Shield is a one-instance ability, meaning, if your opponents focused on one monster, only the first attack will be negated and the rest will go past killing that Taunt monster in a turn or two.

Putting down $12.94 for a max level card might be too much for others. Not everyone playing this game lives in a 1st world country so $13 might be big enough for one card. However, this is one of the cheapest max level summoners so you might want to invest on Dallan if you want a long term investment without putting holes in your pockets.

Dallan is also one of the cheapest rentals for only 5.48 DEC per day. It can be really good if you're worrying about your budget or simply wanted to invest your rentals elsewhere.

You can get a max level Venari Bonesmith for only $2 which is really good in my opinion. It is not as expensive as other cards but at the same time, can be really useful in combat that requires low mana.

If you're not into Death Splinters or keen on having him as your backup, you can just rent Venari Bonesmith for 3.22 DEC per day at max level. It's not as expensive as other cards giving you great advantages during the battle.
Stats | Dallan
Dallan is a Epic summoner from the Chaos Legion Series.
Level 6 Epic summoners allow the use of:
Level 4 Legendary monsters;
Level 6 Epic monsters;
Level 8 Rare monsters;
Level 10 Common monsters.
Requires more cards than Rare to max but less than legendary
Cripple. [Negative Status] Monsters attacked by this card have their max health reduced by 1.
Cripple reduces the opponent's max health when hit. This is very useful when your opponents has defensive abilities like Shield, Void and, of course, Divine Shield. As long as the opponent was hit by an attack, regardless if it took damage or not, their max health will be reduced by 1. This effect stacks.
Stats | Venari Bonesmith
Venari Bonesmith has decent stats but great abilities. He is a good monster to have around with especially since he only costs 4 mana. This cost is very good since it also falls in the range for Little League, another rule of combat that only allows monsters with 4 mana cost or lower.
At level 1, Life Leech is unlocked. [Stat Modifier] When this monster damages an opponent's health, increase their max health by half the damage.
Life Leech is strong in matches that drags on. The longer the match, the higher the amount of Max Health this monster would gain.
At level 4, Poison is unlocked. [Negative Status] Attacks from this monster can inflict Poisoned Status. Poisoned monsters take 2 damage at the start of each round.
Poison is another ability good in drawn out battles. Since Holy Protection basically guarantees a round of attack from the monsters, it can be said that this can drag the game for another round, which makes Poison fit for it.
At level 8, Dispel is unlocked. [Support] Removes all [Positive Status] from the opponent when hit by this monster's attack.
Dispel is an added bonus. It eliminates any positive effects from the opponent leveling the playing field to your advantage.

αͺIαEαα
Dallan: A very cheap rental summoner that I only use for its price. The Cripple ability is just a nice bonus, especially on rules of combat like Holy Protection.
- Xenith Monk: A low cost anti-mage tank with Void, Magic Reflect and Heal. Good against Obsidian which is focused on Magic damage.
- Revealer: One of the good magic damage in Death Splinters due to his Stun ability. While Stun only has a 50% chance of applying, that's still a very strong ability when it applies.
- Silent Sha-Vi: What this monster excels than others is his Piercing ability along with Sneak. These are very strong combination since he has high damage and melee which can be countered or delayed by armor or armor adding effect like Protect.
- Venari Bonesmith: Venari Bonesmith is good in Holy Protection rule of combat because even if the initial damage was blocked by Divine Protection, the Poisoned status can still be applied since the only condition of the Poison ability is if the monster's attack hits. However, this is not 100% since Poison ability only has a 50% chance of application for every attack.
- Dhampir Stalker: Dhampir Stalker's True Strike ability is very useful in ensuring that the Divine Shield ability from Holy Protection is removed.
- Uraeus: Uraeus is another Sneak monster normally accompanied by Silent Sha-Vi. These two monsters are very strong together that can slowly chip off your opponent's lineup from the back.
αͺIαͺ YOαα αTαα©TEGY α―OαKEαͺ?
Yes. Dallan's Cripple ability allows me to damage the opponent even when there's Divine Shield ability. The damage will be indirect as it would reduce the max health. Xenith Monk's Magic Reflect ability was very useful in this game since it removed a lot of the opponent's Divine Shield before I even reach them. Then, I just have both Silent Sha-Vi and Uraeus slowly kill the lower health monsters from behind while the others attack the front.
α―αΌα©T α―Iαͺαͺ YOα TαY αͺIα΄α΄EαEαTαͺY αEαT TIα°E?
None. The build worked really well and I had a huge advantage in erms of levels. The pincer attack from the front and back also worked really well in order to eliminate the opponent's healers.
π«π πππ ππππ Dallan and Venari Bonesmith in Holy Protection Rules of Combat? πΎππ ππ πΎππ πππ?
Yes. I like Holy Protection because it is really useful when you have Protect ability. I didn't use the strategy in this battle because my Ravenhood Warden isn't max level yet and others will be better. But the Protect-Divine Shield Combo is very strong especially against melee and range team compositions.
If you've seen me from the earlier days, the same idea can be said with using Lorna Shine's Divine Shield ability and Truthspeaker's Protect ability. It's one of my strongest combos up to date, if only Untamed Set is allowed in Modern Format.
