Here we go again, Chiang Mai! Home to many nomads and expats so there are always opportunities to try international cuisine. From sushi and pizza to burgers, I enjoy a variety of dishes. Today, we're visiting Smash Daddy Burger, a newly opened establishment as fresh as our own cannabis dispensary, The Spot.
As the name implies, Smash Daddy Burger specializes in smash burgers. Despite my usual preference for juicy, medium-rare burgers, I was eager to try something different. The buzz surrounding the place, along with the fact it's a friend's business, made it impossible to resist. (Also their cute branding, really)
We attended their opening event, which occurred a few months back. My apologies for the late blog update; life has kept me quite busy so I'm far behind on my food posts. Smash Daddy Burger is intriguingly located within another establishment, a bar called Off The Wall (It's literally off the wall! Look..). The unique setup appears rather haphazard, but in a charming way. Two businesses sharing a space can be mutually beneficial.
To reach Smash Daddy, one must traverse through the bar to the rear section, which is decked out in an engaging food truck-style decor. The environment of the bar, brimming with positive vibes, added to the overall experience.
We ordered a few burgers and a chocolate shake. The burgers were incredibly juicy, capturing the essence of an authentic American burger. The fact that Americans run the place lends an additional layer of authenticity. Since our initial visit, we've returned several times, witnessing the gradual improvement in their offerings. Their consistent evolution makes Smash Daddy one of my top burger joints in Chiang Mai.
They had their special one time with this 'Peanut butter jelly burger' and we're like .. fk yessss!! Gota dig the photos for future post. For now, the regular buns and patties but still real gucc!
Their branding also caught my eye, it's direct, charming, and likely to evoke a sense of nostalgia among Americans. So, if you ever find yourself in Chiang Mai with a burger craving, Smash Daddy Burger is definitely worth a visit <3
