Hi guys! Yesterday I blogged about what we had for breakfast. I made fried rice and got comments from other people about it. I'm so happy to hear good reviews even though it is only on photos. So thank you very much for the support.

Today, I will share step-by-step instructions on making an easy "Chili Fried Rice".

These are the ingredients you'll need:

  • our main ingredient is white rice : day-old rice is perfect for fried rice but if you don't have any, don't worry there's a way to imitate the texture of day-old rice. All you gotta do is cook the white rice with less water than you usually add then it will turn a little bit dry when it's cooked.
  • garlic : if possible you need to chop the garlic small. You can use a blender to get fine results.
  • chili flakes : you can get this at a market or some are ready-packed in a bottle available in a grocery store.
  • oil : any kind of oil is okay.
  • pepper and salt : measurement is according to taste.

There you go, that's all we need to make this rice. Now let's move on and start cooking! ☺️

Step-by-step instructions

How to cook Chili-garlic Fried Rice:

  • Basic step is to preheat your pan. Once it is hot, drizzle oil on a pan, just enough to saute the ingredients.

Let it sit and then try to saute once in a while to avoid burning the garlic.

  • Next step, once the oil is ready you can now add the minced garlic and chili flakes together. Let it fry until the garlic looks crunchy or brownish.

it should look like this. A perfect golden brown color. :)

  • We can now add the main ingredient: The star of the show, the one and only "white rice" haha πŸ˜‚

cooking less water on rice makes the rice not stick to each other, giving us a texture of day-old rice.

  • This step is optional. What I like about fried rice is that you can add anything to it. Fried rice can be plain, or extra flavorful. For example, if I have some bacon left, I can add it to my fried rice for extra flavor. You can add, egg, spam, luncheon meat, hotdogs, sausages, or whatever you have. Okay? be creative. πŸ˜‰

Ready to mix and now it's done!

  • Last step. Just mix everything, and add pepper & salt according to taste. Let it fry for about 5-10 minutes tops and you are done!!!

TADAAAHH! I present to you our "chili-garlic fried rice"

Before cooking the fried rice, I have already cooked a side dish to eat it with. It's the undying "scrambled egg with cheese" and the "luncheon meat" slices. YUM!
