Afraid of food that is "looking" at you? 😅 When we prepared this dish, I wasn't even thinking about it, not to mention when we were enjoying the meal. We prepared this dinner some time ago and I forgot all about it, until it came up during a conversation here on Hive with @fruityfruitz.
We had some fish left in the freezer and were wondering how we would prepare it; we didn't want to do the usual. @rarej then asked me if there was a way for us to steam the fish in one of our pots and that's when I reminded him that we already have a steaming tray, that was gifted to us and that we've already prepared vegetables in it.
So we took out the tray, washed the fish and prepared the ingredients. @rarej even cut some stalks of the lemongrass - it's always fun to be able to use items from the own garden - and used the lime we received from my parents. We also used garlic and some (brown) sugar to make the sauce.
And then it was time to put in the stalks of lemongrass and the lime - or is it lemon (I really need to learn the differences between the citrus types 🙈) - into the open cut fish.
Then into the tray they went. The steaming of the fish didn't take a long time, which we basted from time to time with the sauce. So for those who have some fish left and not enough time for cooking, this dish is a viable option. There's also little ingredients needed.
