Seaside Seafood Restaurant

Visiting the island area. All about the sea, all about the beach, I think of something else. Guess what? Not the sunset. Another thing that can make us smile and happy. Definitely about food.

Visiting the sea area will be in vain if we don't look for seafood. The Batam area that I will tell you about this time. When I was an employee at a hotel next to the sea, at that time I liked to fish with my friends after work. Years have passed and I miss those days. Now I come back to this city to travel.

A lot has changed, of course. New places have emerged and even before I had never visited. The place I visited this time is called KELONG ARJAM MENTARAU BERTUAH. It turns out that this place gets good reviews on Google Maps.

This place is popular not only for its food. About the place. We can see the location of this restaurant is on the water! Precisely located on the edge of the mangrove planting location.

Another thing that visitors aim for is to see the iconic building of Singapore across there. Unfortunately when I visited it was a cloudy day so the iconic buildings of Singapore were not very clearly visible.

When I first entered this restaurant, there were very friendly waiters. They immediately asked how many people we had so they could recommend the right table.

Instead of choosing a seat right away, I saw their pools that served various fresh seafood there. There were shrimp, lobster, fish, crabs, and others.

The waiter who chatted with me was an old man who showed me a fresh fish with his fishing gear. That made me excited and impatient to taste the sweet taste of the fresh fish.

Then I chose my table at the end so I could see the view of the seas that were busy with large ships at the end.

This place really looks spacious. I deliberately came here on a weekday so that it was not crowded with visitors and I could enjoy this place more freely.

The place is clean and additional fans are provided if the day is too hot to reduce the heat of the sun from the direction of the ocean.

It looks like there is an additional area that is under construction. Great, they added more seating areas which means more visitors are coming to this place.

Indeed, the building material is made of wood but this material feels solid and strong when stepped on so there is no need to worry about the safety of this place.

Next, the food I ordered arrived. My order was grilled fish, there was also squid cooked with sweet and sour seasoning for my wife, then there were stir-fried water spinach vegetables.

A unique thing that is usually found in local restaurants on the coast is the serving of rice using a closed thermos. This method is to keep the rice warm because there is a lot of wind blowing so the rice will get cold quickly if it is not served this way.

The taste of the grilled fish I ordered was really sweet which indicates that the fish was really fresh of course with a complement of sambal, a special chili sauce for the delicious grilled fish menu. It felt like I was charging for food here and luckily my wife only ate a small portion so I had a larger portion to finish the food. Of course after driving the trip here earlier I felt hungry.

After eating, I enjoyed a young coconut drink served directly from the coconut. It was so amazing it felt like I was actually on a wonderful vacation!
