While it’s not really the weather to eat meatball soups, my sister was craving some. Even though we were busy preparing for the functions everyday then, we managed to try a few local dishes here and there. I personally haven’t had meatballs in months and that day, we had our meatball soups in scorching hot weather. This particular place has been in my mind for sometime now. It’s the pop up restaurant of a frozen food chain. They are only selling meatball soup and assorted grilled suki.
These days meatball soup is modernized. I even told my sister that there are two types of it, classic meatballs and modernized meatballs. This cheese meatball is one of them. The meatball is often factory made and made frozen instead of classic ones that are often not really round and roughly shaped. While the soup is also a lot clearer than the classic meatball. I personally enjoy both but would prefer a more clear soup than a brothy one.
In that shop, they have several meatball options. We both ended up choosing cheese meatballs since we wanted to taste something savory and brothy that time. Inside a bowl of cheese meatballs they also have a tofu and two types of fried wonton for the soup crunch.
Unlike classic meatballs, the balls were shaped really round and firm. But what I love about it is that the cheese melted just right, especially after the first bite. While the soup isn’t something out of the world, it was quite decent. The previous night we also tried different meatballs but we definitely preferred this one over the other, which was a classic bowl of meatballs. Have you had something like this?
While my sister was trying to finish her meatball soup, I went inside the store to grab a few more sweet snacks to complete the aftertaste. Call it a cheap dessert but I ended up seeing some papers attached around the shelves that are basically a part of boycotting products that support Israel. It’s interesting to see how it plays around this part of the world, especially around smaller stores.
As you can see above, walls are also one of the brands that’s being boycotted by people. While the war is quite far, boycotting products even reaches to this small place. There are also many more brands and even fast food stores being boycotted. Although maybe after a while, people will eventually move on.
