Early Dinner at the ONCH

We stopped by the Our Northern Coffee House for an early supper during our Tuesday trip. We initially thought of checking out Galilea Cafe, a food house we had wanted to experience but always postponed it. Unfortunately, when we finally got there, we noticed the lights were out which was unlikely of the place so the hubby drove past its entrance and then walked the few yards to see if it was open.

He returned soon after saying there was a note the restaurant had closed its doors for good. Ouch! Maybe it wasn't making enough so the owners decided to stop its operations. We always thought business was doing well because whenever we passed by the place before, the side entrance parking was usually full.

And so we went on our way and drove into the next place we had in mind - Our Northern Coffee House. There were plenty of customers and a group had a couple of dogs with them Anyongi started to become restless when he sighted them so we headed to the extension where we had a good view of the sunset.

We took Table 3 and upon settling in, I let the hubby take good care of the ordering because he has a healthy appetite.😅 Took the chance to photograph the reflections on the tabletop.

He got us a platter of dumplings, Lechon Petchay, and one often included on his list to order - Pancit which took him by surprise as it was on a large tray. It turned out that we were given a whole serving for 6 or more hungry people, lol! We were only two plus our Anyongi! The attendants usually ask or confirm whether it's a whole or half-serving.

We think the dumplings were too greasy but the husband devoured most of them anyway. I told you, he's got a good appetite, lol!

What we didn't like about this Lechon dish was the raw minced garlic. Even the hubby who tends to love garlic commented it had a little too much. We would have loved it if they stir-fried them before adding them to the dish. Oh well, at least we know how it is and may not repeat the order next time.

This is another favorite of the husband, Canton-Bihon as they call it, a combination of two types of noodles and veggies. This was quite tasty and the meat added to it had a lovely aroma different from what we had before.

Oh my, those empty plates! Did we finish them all?

I'm tempted to say yes but we ended up having them packed for takeaway. They were way too much for two people. The hubby can be funny for ordering more than we can consume but we had the leftovers reinvented for breakfast the following day at DD and didn't have to cook. The remaining Pancit was brought to the old man's big dog when we drove to his place.

That wasn't our first time at the restaurant as we had been dining there during our trips before. We like it for the food, general ambiance, and the spacious parking lot. And of course, it allows dogs so that's a big check for us. We will stop over there again for sure!

Meanwhile, we are still at the hospital. While the old man is already kicking, he needs another test. So it looks like we will be spending more days away from home.

And it's the weekend so let's have a good one!
