Lunch with my wife at a Cantonese style restaurant

Today was one of those rare days where my wife and i have time to go out and eat together. So we sent to the new department store in Chubei, Taiwan.

When we went to the restaurant level and i was surprised. The whole area is designed as an old village in Taiwan. Very beautiful and quaint.

My wife wanted dimsim, we went to TimHoWan. This style of Hong Kong restaurant has small dishes, but they have a great variety. The first dish we ordered was radish cake.

Next, came the steamed dimsum in the little steaming boxes/trays. The first one picture was a spinach and shrimp dumpling.

The image above is pork dimsum. The flavor of as the food is a little hard to describe, but delicious.

This one is very tender pork, just a little salty.

This colorful dish is fried tofu. It’s texture is different from the stinky tofu that we usually eat. It’s also different from Japanese style fried tofu. It’s topped with shredded pork.

This is one of the few ones that i know the English for. It’s a barbecue pork vermicelli roll. Basically, it’s a big noodle wrap.

Our last dish was a rice dish with chicken and Cantonese sausage.

All in all a great lunch. The dishes are small, so you get to try a lot if different dishes.
