The watermelon! It is also in my memories always associated with great summers, vacations and beaches. Of course, the fruits that you can buy directly in the south, still have much more intense flavor, but also here with us in Austria you get wonderful delicious watermelons at the right time of year.
Today we only cut the first half and enjoyed nicely chilled from the refrigerator. The second half, covered with a foil keeps quite a few days in the refrigerator.
This is one of the best examples of how good it is to choose your food according to the season. When the body is crying out for energy, coolness and liquid, watermelon is certainly the best choice to cool down.

Die allerbeste Frucht bei dieser Affenhitze
Sie ist ohnehin eine meiner absoluten Lieblingsfrüchte und gerade jetzt in dieser sehr heißen Zeit kann sie für mich durchaus auch einmal eine komplette Mahlzeit ersetzen!
Die Wassermelone! Sie ist auch in meinen Erinnerungen immer zutiefst mit Sommer, Urlaub und Strand verbunden. Natürlich haben die Früchte, die man im Süden direkt kaufen kann, noch viel intensiveren Geschmack, aber auch hier bei uns in Österreich bekommt man zur richtigen Jahreszeit wunderbar leckere Wassermelonen.
Wir haben heute nur die erste Hälfte aufgeschnitten und schön gekühlt aus dem Kühlschrank genossen. Die zweite Hälfte, mit einer Folie abgedeckt hält sich durchaus ein paar Tage im Kühlschrank.
Das ist eines der besten Beispiele, wie gut es tut, seine Nahrung der Jahreszeit angepasst auszuwählen. Wenn der Körper nach Energie, Kühle und Flüssigkeit schreit ist die Wassermelone mit Sicherheit die beste Wahl, um sich abzukühlen.
Beim Fotografieren war ich auch total davon fasziniert, welch eine schöne Struktur sie hat und so wurden es viel mehr Fotos als ursprünglich geplant und ich hatte die Qual der Wahl, welche ich für den Post nehmen soll.
