Traditional Wood Fire Cooking #18: Introducing "Paksiw na Salmon" (Easy One-Step Cooking)

About this video

This video showcases the Filipino style of home cooking specifically Ilocano home cooking using a traditional wood stove. This video features one of my favorite dishes, it is called "Paksiw". Paksiw is a very versatile dish, you can use different kinds of fish like Milk Fish, Blue Scad Mackerel, Tilapia, and Salmon. You can add vegetables into Paksiw like Snow Cabbage, Bitter Gourd, and Eggplant. In its simplest form, a Paksiw is only consisting of a fish and green pepper (spices included). Paksiw is characterized by its sour taste. Sometimes cooking oil is added to it to make the soup more delicious. As for me, I cannot add cooking oil since my younger son does not like oily soup.

Delicious fact

If you are going to add coconut milk to the "Paksiw" then its deliciousness becomes tenfold. I do recommend that you try it and you will not regret it.

That is all for now guys, catch you up with the next one. Wishing you all safety, good health, and abundance.
