End of an Era

Well, after 4 years, I've finally caught COVID.

I'm not getting tested to ascertain the variant, unless things take a severe turn. And it's not just me. The whole house is down with it, as well as a bunch of other folks we know.

It looks like a wedding about 10 days ago may be the vector for this outbreak amongst associated folks. The grooms family have pretty much all had it.

If my daughter had not already had a positive test I'd have put the initial symptoms down to a busy weekend. The reason for that is they all tie in to my regular ME/CFS trigger points. A sore throat, aching muscles, and inflamed glands. Today the runny nose and stuffed sinus has joined the gang.

As a friend said, catching it at some point was going to be inevitable. Thankfully we've been able to delay it until we've had several rounds of vaccinations, giving our bodies a template of what to fight.

Now, it's a case of hunkering down and taking all the rest we can. In the picture above are two sovereign remedies I'm employing. Home made chicken soup, and plenty of hydration (carbonated water and lemon juice for me).

Of course, I'm taking pain killers as required and have my inhaler handy. I'm hopeful nothing stronger will be required, for any of us.
