#EPL-ScoreChallenge #12 - Gameweek 5

This week I will be reviewing the Everton vs Liverpool, the game will be played on Saturday 17 October at 12:30BST @ Goodison Park.

THE most anticipated Merseyside Derby!

Both Merseyside teams made a perfect start to 2020/21 campaign, till the last game week; Everton beat Brighton in a 4 - 2 thriller and the last years champions were surprising thumped by Aston Villa 7- 2. Everton will host Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby this weekend as they sit on top of the Premier League table. Last time Everton were on top of the table going into the Merseyside Derby was in 1989, were Liverpool won 3 -1 at Goodison Park. Can history repeat itself!

Everton has started this season on fire, winning the first 4 matches in style; netting 12 goals and conceded only 5. Their leading goal scorer, Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored 6 goals in 4 premier league games. Last season the Toffees had creative issues but in this campaign they brought in Jame Rodriguez from Real Madrid, he is the sort of player that Everton needed for creativity. Rodriguez has 2 assist and scored 3 goals, his 'free' role on the pitch suites his style as he can start the attack. What a great signing by Carlo Ancelotti.

Liverpool started the campaign well, edging out Leeds on the first game day, completely dominating Chelsea and Arsenal with and without the ball. But got completely annihilated by Aston Villa. Comical errors by Adrian (gk), errors in defense and 3 deflections that lead to goals. Liverpool have now conceded 11 goals in the first 4 gameweeks of the season. But in attack the Reds are still lethal; Salah scored 5, Mane is on 3 and the new boy Jotta is on 1. If Salah scores a goal at Everton it could mark his 100th goal for LFC; Salah sits on 99 goals in 158 games for Liverpool in all competitions.

Everton are winless in past 19 Merseyside Derbys (D11 L8). The last time the Toffees were victorious over the Reds was in October 2010, when the won 2 - 0. The last three Merseyside Derbys @ Goodison Park have finished goalless. I can assure you there will be goals in this one.
