China's ZTE subject to new U.S. bribery investigation, NBC News says By Reuters

Chinese telecoms organization ZTE (SZ:000063) is the subject of another pay off examination at the U.S. Equity Department, focused on speculated influences paid to outside authorities to pick up points of interest in its overall tasks, NBC News said.

A representative for the Justice Department didn't quickly react to a solicitation for input. Nor did the organization.

ZTE conceded in 2017 and paid almost $900 million to settle with the U.S. after an examination found the media communications gear producer plotted to dodge U.S. embargoes by purchasing U.S. segments, consolidating them into ZTE hardware and illicitly sending them to Iran.
