Without much ado, I am going to dive right in to share my thoughts on this week's prompt that states...
Imagine the world had to let go between movie or music production and everyone has to cast a vote. The vote is currently a tie and your vote will determine what happens next. Which of them would you save with your vote and why?
First off these two lines of entertainment,if I should call it that are quite beneficial to mankind. Movie production is great in itself, with its ability to dramatize words and actions beautifully on screen for us to watch and get entertained. With it diverse genres ranging from comedy to tragic-comedy, horror films, zombie films, romance, college films, seriesl e.t.c, there is a lot to choose from the world of movies and in truth we are all actors in this thing called life.

Then we have music production, the very food for the soul. Music is not just pleasant sounds combined in time and space, it's a bridge between the physical sensual world and the spiritual world.
Music is ancient
Africa as a continent before the advent of the missionaries and colonial masters, was known for it's deep diabolical history and methods of worship. There was no culture that was not serving a deity or two more. Bringing my focus home,(Nigeria), I have heard tales of my ancestors and their methods of worship to so so and so diety or gods. There was the god of thunder, god of iron, god of fertility, god of small pox e.t.c, just to mention a few. Despite these many deities, one thing was common amongst them and that was music. The priest or priestess would hum or chant a tune in the form of incantations to spur these deities to action, whenever they needed something. It was believed that chanting a melody attracted these deities to answering the requests of its worshippers.
Music is a gift
It is a gift from God Almighty to His creatiions, to create a harmonial blend in nature. That's why nature has a voice that sings....it can be heard in the swishing sounds of leaves on a tree as they sway, the howling of winds, the cooing of nocturnal birds, the croaking of toads at night, the whistling of birds at the rising of the sun, the buzzing of bees in search of nectar, the humming of several insects, the hissing of a snake waiting for its prey, the pitty-platter sound of raindrops as they touch the earth, the booming of thunder on a stormy day, the crowing of a cock at the break of dawn, a babies laughter e.t.c.
I could go on and on to list the intricate details where music can be found and heard all around nature. Music is everywhere around us even in the silence.... even silence has a voice that sings.

Music is everything and if I were to cast my vote to tip the scale... I would vote for music production to go on because without it the whole world would be doomed. Music is not just tunes and melodies combined in various Solfa Notations or in a scale but music is the language of the soul
Music is a means of prophecy
Whether one is religious or not, we all might have heard of and even believed in prophecies one way or another. I could mention a few artistes that resonated with this, they include;Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Majek Fashek and Fela Anikulapo Kuti. I once witnessed a show by Majek where he sang send down the rain and almost as if he could control the weather, it began to rain.... this is the power of music

Music is everything...it is how our emotions find expression from our minds and into the open.
These and many more are the reasons why I would cast my vote to save music production .
