For this week's Show Me A Photo contest in the Feathered Friends Community @nelinoeva has chosen SONGBIRDS as the theme. You can find the contest- HERE
Here are a couple photos of common songbirds that I frequently see in the trees around my house.
American robin is more often seen in the grass, looking for worms and insects, but if I am quick enough I can catch them in the trees.
It is a migratory songbird of the thrush family.

American goldfinch I have taken my bird feeders down because of an outbreak of bird flu and I am missing seeing and hearing these little guys outside my window. The strain is called EA H5N1, which is a highly pathogenic avian influenza and even though it is mainly affecting waterfowl, we have been asked to remove feeders and birdbaths until the end of May to stop birds from congregating and help prevent it from spreading. Social distancing is healthy for birds, too!
