Hello Feathered Friends Lovers,
Welcome to #SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 65!
While walking in the park filled with bird songs, I thought that this would be a good prompt for round 65 - SONGBIRDS. But who are they? Let see what is the definition. It is more complex, than you may think. The songbirds are not just birds that sing nice melody.
All songbirds are perching birds, an order called passerines that share a distinct toe arrangement that helps them grasp branches. Passerines are separated into three suborders, the largest of which is Passeri. Birds in the Passeri suborder are called oscines, or songbirds. The suborder includes more than 4,000 species that range from the compact Golden-crowned Kinglet to the much larger Common Raven.
The vocal organ of the birds is called syrinx that helps them create different songs and melodies. If you are more interested about the songbirds I recommend to read the article What Is a Songbird, Exactly? from which I quote the definition. Also you can check the Wikipedia if your bird is qualified, there is a list of the families that can help. Mind you with 4000 songbirds you have a huge variety to choose from.
And here it is the new theme:
To give an example i choose the nightingale, one of the best singers among the birds.
Nightingales came back this spring and their songs bring so much joy. Not easy to spot as they have rather dull plumage.
For your entries there is no need the photo to show the bird singing, I know how hard it is to capture the moment. The point is to show your photo of the songbird/s and to tell us something about it.
Now is your turn and let me see your photos of birds, but first read carefully the rules below⬇️
Show me your photo of a bird, following these rules:

- You may add more photos, but you should state which one is your entry, otherwise the first will be taken into account.
