I’m reluctant to even give out even the name of this company never mind the location for the reasons mentioned below.
Given what happened recently at the Wild Boar Hotel, and it turning into a celebrity location for vandals, I think we have all gotten a little more tight-lipped.
Anyone within the Facebook Urbex scene will know exactly what I mean, but for the HIVE bloggers, this will be new information, hence the image of 'Jason' and his buddies spraying fire extinguishers and swinging on chandeliers in a once beautiful location.
I will say it has been covered before and it’s a massive location. We only did part of it and more may be accessible depending on your agility levels.
The pessimist in me was saying this is not looking promising while walking around the grounds of this 'I am not saying', ex-business.
Some parts were looking inaccessible but inside through these out-of-focus bars, I could see all kinds of goodies.
It was a case of go for broke and after a little climbing in which I managed to rip my jeans and attain a few grazes, cuts, and blood to my leg we were inside.
Where to go now? there were at least a couple of possible entrances points, and so we made our way to one of the less obvious ones.
A little more climbing (and not dropping through this 12 foot broken window, I ain’t that crazy) got us safely inside one part of one of the buildings.
This corridor was quite wet and sodden. Where the water was coming from, I don't know.
Had a washing machine leaked?
The vending machine didn’t work, even the one on the right that looks like it should. I could have used a coffee.
The first aid cupboard, or was it?
CRT monitors get no respect these days; they would have been expensive once.
I was conscious of nosey neighbours, but saw little in the way of anyone. Maybe they don't care or our stealth skills had increased.
That squidgy stuff on the ground is some kind of paint, and guess who walked in it.
You couldn’t get through this door, but sometimes there’s a different route.
It was getting more interesting the further we climbed the stairs. They had left quite a bit behind.
That’s a 240Mb SCSI HDD, not much storage on that, and how old is it?
Laser printers get no love here either.
The Secret Laborotory
It's not often I come across something like this. It was quite wrecked, with panes of glass put through but the amount of equipment left was crazy.
Having never worked in a laboratory I have no clue what all this stuff is for.
If anyone has any ideas, then please chip in.
The room at the end had the most. I mean it was crammed with gear, probably expensive gear.
I had to pixelate some of the names from papers and other things I photographed.
If you are reading this and know where it is, then please don't give the location away in the comments. Otherwise, we will have another Wild Boar on our hands and many of you know what happened there.
This corridor took us to another building but it was jammed.
This old business has many a section to look in, and from the yard, we could see other possible places to sneak in.
Climbing up the tower would have yielded a decent shot, but my vertigo won't let me do that anymore.
It was tempting to stay but we had many other places on the agenda that day.
As we had spent the best part of an hour here, I felt it wise to move on. I don’t think any alarms had been raised but I don’t like overstaying anywhere.
As we were walking back up the road, two blokes and a large wobbling young woman passed us. They did look like explorers with cameras and gear, but we didn't say anything.
I think she may have a little problem getting to where we were. Being skinny, young and fit helps a lot. Some parts of that 'dream style' are sadly unattainable to me.
