Aunque sí pareciera yo realmente no es que suelo pedir comida por delivery con demasiada frecuencia, sólo lo hago bajo casos de emergencia como por ejemplo: se me olvidó el almuerzo que tenía que llevar a la Universidad, tengo cero ganas de cocinar o la electricidad falla en mi conjunto residencial...esto último fue lo que ocurrió hace unas semanas atrás. Últimamente la electricidad ha estado fallando con mucha frecuencia en el conjunto residencial en dónde vivo, realmente no sé qué es lo que ocurre pero lo que sí sé es que esto es un grave problema porque nuestra cocina es eléctrica, no a gas, y a pesar de que somos precavidos y la mayoría de las veces tenemos en la alacena productos que no necesitan ser cocinados porque son de consumo inmediato, en muchas oportunidades ha ocurrido que esos suministros se han agotado y no queda más remedio que resolver en el momento, bien sea comprando algo de comer en algún lugar cercano, yendo a cocinar a casa de algún familiar que viva cerca o pidiendo comida por delivery.

Hace un par de semanas atrás la luz falló de nuevo y ahí sí que comencé a entrar en colapso porque tenía muchas cosas por hacer ese día: estudiar para mí presentación de la Tesis, escribir varios informes y estudiar para algunos quices, ¡no tenía tiempo para más nada! ¿y cuál fue la sorpresa? los suministros para caso de emergencia se habían agotado, así que la solución más sencilla fue...ya ustedes saben cuál fue (ja, ja, ja) ¡DELIVERY!

A couple of weeks ago the power failed again and I started to collapse because I had a lot of things to do that day: studying for my Thesis presentation, writing several reports and studying for some quizzes, I had no time for anything else! and what was the surprise? the emergency supplies had run out, so the simplest solution was...you know what it was (ha, ha, ha, ha) DELIVERY!

Esta vez no me compliqué demasiado la existencia y pedí comida en un lugar que he visitado en múltiples ocasiones y que lleva por nombre Artesano Cafetería aunque también es panadería y charcutería a la vez. Este lugar es uno de los tantos lugares que me encantan en la ciudad para ir por un café, aunque la vídeo-reseña quedará para otra ocasión. El punto es que, sí bien el menú de este lugar no es demasiado amplio, ofrecen unas pizzas increíblemente divinas y económicas, pero eso sí, nada de pizza familiar, gigante, mediana...no, todas son de un tamaño estándar. Por otro lado, en el menú también se destaca una gran variedad de sanduches y unas que otras opciones de ensalada. Cómo comprenderán, al ser un lugar donde también venden su propia charcutería, los sanduches que preparan son una completa maravilla. Mi favorito de toda la vida es el de Roast Beef, pero en esta ocasión quise pedir algo distinto para variar un poco...aprovechando que este sería un delivery obligatorio.

El pedido de esta oportunidad fue algo simple: Sanduche de Jamón de Pierna Ahumada, que básicamente consistía en: aderezo César, mostaza de la casa, jamón de pierna ahumada con mostaza y eneldo, queso amarillo, relish (salsa de pepinillos encurtidos), tomate, cebolla y lechuga...suena tentador, ¿cierto? Los sanduches de este menú tenían un precio que oscilaba entre $5,90 y $7,50 que realmente me parecen muy buenos precios considerando la calidad de los ingredientes y el tamaño del sanduche en cuestión. Estuve tentada a pedir por primera vez café por delivery, sólo por la simple curiosidad de saber qué tan tibio podría llegar y cómo lo empaquetarían, pero descarté la idea porque el encanto de tomar café es también vivir la experiencia de ir al lugar y disfrutar de la taza de café bajo el ambiente tan encantador de la cafetería...y realmente, ¿un café por delivery? Ok no, eso pierde su encanto. Sin embargo, lo que nunca pierde su encanto son los postres y a pesar de que en el menú de Artesano Cafetería no hay una amplia variedad de opciones dulces, pues realmente son seis opciones limitadas las que tienen, eso no me impidió agregar un postre sutil para acompañar al sanduche que serviría como mi almuerzo. Opté por dos galletas de chispas de chocolate cuyo costo era de $1,20 cada una...¿lo ven? los precios de este lugar son bastante accesibles.

The point is that, although the menu of this place is not very extensive, they offer incredibly divine and inexpensive pizzas, but yes, no family pizza, giant, medium ... no, they are all standard size. On the other hand, the menu also features a wide variety of sandwiches and a few salad options. As you will understand, being a place where they also sell their own charcuterie, the sandwiches they prepare are a complete marvel. My all-time favorite is the Roast Beef, but this time I wanted to order something different for a change... taking advantage of the fact that this would be a mandatory delivery.

The order for this opportunity was something simple: Smoked Leg Ham Sanduche, which basically consisted of: Caesar dressing, house mustard, smoked leg ham with mustard and dill, yellow cheese, relish (pickled pickle relish), tomato, onion and lettuce...sounds tempting, right? The sandwiches on this menu ranged in price from $5.90 to $7.50 which really seems like a very good price to me considering the quality of the ingredients and the size of the sandwich in question. I was tempted to order coffee by delivery for the first time, just for the simple curiosity of knowing how warm it would arrive and how it would be packaged, but I discarded the idea because the charm of drinking coffee is also to live the experience of going to the place and enjoying the cup of coffee under the charming atmosphere of the coffee shop...and really, a coffee by delivery? Ok no, that loses its charm. However, what never loses its charm are the desserts and even though the menu at Artesano Cafeteria does not have a wide variety of sweet options, as there are really six limited choices they have, that did not stop me from adding a subtle dessert to go with the sandwich that I would serve as my lunch. I opted for two chocolate chip cookies which cost $1.20 each...see, the prices at this place are quite affordable.

¿Qué les puedo decir? El sanduche estaba de maravilla, aunque por un momento deseé tener electricidad para colocarlo unos minutitos dentro del horno. El sabor de las salsas junto al de los pepinillos es una cosa de otro mundo, pero eso no es sorpresa para mi porque, como les comenté, ya había probado con anterioridad los sanduches de este lugar. Por otro lado, lo que nunca había probado eran las galletas así que debo decir que estaban en el punto exacto que me agrada: crujientes pero no tan duras y lo mejor es que el tamaño de las galletitas era bastante aceptable también. Claro está que yo nunca pierdo una oportunidad para hacer reseñas sobre comida y, por tanto, esta no sería la excepción así que aprovechando que tenía suficiente batería en mi celular quise distraerme tomando algunas fotografías geniales para olvidarme un poco del mal rato que me hace vivir el tema de la electricidad.

What can I tell you? The sandwich was wonderful, although for a moment I wished I had electricity to put it in the oven for a few minutes. The taste of the sauces together with the pickles is something out of this world, but that is not a surprise for me because, as I told you, I had already tasted the sandwiches from this place. On the other hand, what I had never tasted before were the cookies so I must say that they were at the exact point that I like: crunchy but not too hard, and the best thing is that the size of the cookies was quite acceptable as well. Of course, I never miss an opportunity to review food and, therefore, this would be no exception, so taking advantage of the fact that I had enough battery in my cell phone I wanted to distract myself by taking some great pictures to forget a little bit about the bad time I have to live with the electricity issue.
